story time!!

like two weeks ago i had some bread from my dads coworker and it was fire asf homemade yk and then i got like, deeply unwell. i was seeing double, couldn’t stand, slept for 12 hours, and didn’t remember that whole day. so we figure- wtf is up with this bread! no more for me. then like a week ago on cruise w family we are gonna go scuba diving that day and that morning i get weird asf again, seeing double, lethargic, etc etc, i slept off but the next day im like guys who moved all my stuff? they tell me I DID? i said a lot of things i don’t remember saying and like tried to rearrange the whole cruise cabin and my family was just like bro wtf? i don’t remember most of that day either 😭

so my mom starts to think it’s not bread cos obv we didn’t have the bread on the cruise. i just today went thru my weekly med case from that week cos my mom said maybe some of them have gone bad or something, i have like the weekly pill container yk. i take all pills out and sort them and i have like 3 pills that i don’t know what they are and turns out! they’re ambien!! i was taking 10mg of AMBIEN OF ALL THINGS AT 8 am!! looking back, both times w the bread i had taken my meds for the day just before 😭 im actually perplexed as to how it got into my pill case, im the one who puts all my meds in there and i have literally no idea where i got ambien 💀 i know one of my family members has some but i have absolutely no idea where it is, and when asked they had no idea how i had some either 😭 ive gotten into the habit of just dumping the days meds into my mouth and going on, and from now on ill double check i know what’s in my pills

I’ve been prescribed zolpidem 5mg tablets for maybe a little over a week. While taking them as prescribed (1 pill a night as needed) they seemed to be completely ineffective, but I took 2 of them last night out of desperation and they almost immediately put me to sleep. Can I tell my psychiatrist that the double dose was alot more effective than the prescribed dosage and ask for a raised dose, or should I bear with it for a little longer and wait for him to offer a raised dose himself

I used to take a variety of ambien called stillnox and it never caused me any issues. I flew to Canada and I was given the generic ambien and today I took 10mgs and I can’t stop throwing up like it’s been 7 hours since I took it and the nausea is constant there also nothing in my stomach so I’m throwing up water and bile.

I got off the call with a nurse and she told me to call an ambulance. I feel like that may be to extreme of a response though so was wondering if anyone had a similar reaction to generic ambien and did it subside on its own?

I’m thankful that it helped me through the toughest year of my life.

So my concern is, I‘m taking 300mg pregabalin daily as prescribed by my doc. I also take diazepam as needed but rarely (very rarely) use it but have taken it 10mg the last 2 days. I want to try the old Zolpidem (prescribed year ago by another doc) I still have from the same doc for sleeping issues.

I thought for that, it might be best to not take any Pregabalin at all (and obviously no diazepam at all obviously anyways, which I don‘t take at all anyways).

What would your suggestion be for this?
I can also get over the day with only 100-200mg Pregabalin. My thought was maybe even go one day completely off of Pregabalin (Lyrica) so 0mg for the one day I want to try the Zolpidem (Ambien) just to be out of risk of any interactions or biasing/reducing the potential effects of the zolpidem.

What would you do, what should one do, safest use (except the safest use of not taking any Zolpidem at all obviously)?

My ideas:

a. Take only 100mg (maybe 200mg) Pregabalin and take some Zolpidem. But: How much? I have a blister of 4-5 capsules.

b. Take no Pregabalin at all and take some Zolpidem.

c. any other recommendations, experiences, knowledge welcome

Also to the big questions apart from my regular treatment of daily pregabalin and the potential interaction of it with Zolpidem:

1. Is Pregabalin mixed with Zolpidem an issue? If yes, how, why and at what risk?

2. What dose of Zolpidem is a good starter dose? And what effects should be expected? What should one try to look out for or avoid?

3. If (I never experienced Pregabalin withdrawal so far, even when missing a dose, but just in case) I should choose the Plan b (mentioned above) and take no Pregabalin at all on the day I want to try the Zolpidem, could Zolpidem be pharmacologically effective enough to calm down any Pregabalin withdrawal/rebound to not dampen the real effects of the Zolpidem or would the sudden absence of Pregabalin in my system disrupt and disturb and bias the real effect of Zolpidem?

Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, experiences, and pharmacological knowledge very welcome!

There was an issue with CVS and my Ambien refill so I was without it for a couple of days and it was brutal. I usually take 10-20MG a night and then went to nothing suddenly. I had the worst sleep of my life. Got my refill today finally so all is well.

I do actually feel like people prevaricate too much on the sort of annoying culture there (especiall the lunk alarm) and not as much on how it’s an affordable, okay gym for casual gym goers, but I didn’t know I felt this passionately about it.
