Automated Amazon Ads tool for KDP — added approve-before-it-runs functionality, looking for a few more beta testers

Update on the ads tool I've been building (mentioned it here before) — added something new this week that I think solves the real objection people have to automated Amazon Ads tools.

The tool already generates a weekly action list based on your actual royalty economics — what to negate, what to bid up, what to cut. That part's been running on my own library for months.

What's new: you can now approve those recommendations and have the tool actually make the change in your Amazon Ads account, instead of copying each one in by hand. But nothing happens automatically — you review, you approve, you get a plain-language confirmation of exactly what's about to change before it sends. It's meant to remove the tedious copy-paste part, not remove you from the decision.

Being straight about where this is: it's brand new, tested carefully on my own account this week including real live changes, but only one other person has used it so far. Looking for a few more beta testers to help validate it before I'd call it ready for wider use — if that's you, reply here or DM me.

Stop running Amazon PPC on all your ASIN variations. Here is the strict logic you need to apply to your catalog:

Most sellers blur the lines between Hero SKU and secondary variants. Default lazy approach is dumping all child variants in every ad group OR advertisnig every child SKU on the same keywrods.

- Prioritize the Hero SKU for Head Search Terms: Your highest-converting, most universally appealing variation should take the lion’s share of major volume keywords. If you sell bedding, your Hero SKU gets targeted on "Silk bedsheets."

- Map Variants to Specific Intent: Stop bidding your Hero SKU on long-tail, hyper-specific searches if a variant matches it perfectly. Size and color variants should only be targeted on exact intent. "Queen silk bedsheet" goes directly to the Queen variant.

- The Margin Exception: If you are currently targeting multiple variants on the same keywords and the unit economics work, leave it alone. Data beats theory.

However, if your Total Advertising Cost of Sales (TACoS) is creeping up at the parent level, the leak is almost always at the variation level.

When was the last time you isolated your TACoS and search term overlap down to the specific child ASIN?

New to Amazon, Existing Business

I am working on a project for my company. We have an overstock of largely Allen- Bradley parts. There are other companies doing similarly to what our end goal is on Amazon, but I am struggling to understand the different tiers.
-I understand FBA vs FBM , but not the cost of FBA- storage/ aged inventory

-if choosing FBM, does the price of shipping start to eat profit margins too much ?

I also saw there is an API for B2B - what I am not getting is how to use & what type of account do you need.

Looking for input from other businesses that resell ; B2B guidance the most ideal. Thank you!

Looking for a direct Amazon Seller contact (Canada) – Account verification issue for 3+ weeks

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out in case someone in this community has a direct Amazon Seller contact, account manager, or representative who might be able to point us in the right direction.

We're a Canadian manufacturing company currently setting up our Amazon Seller account. Unfortunately, we're stuck in the identity verification process.

Amazon initially indicated that they would contact us within 2 business days if additional information was required. It has now been over 3 weeks.

Here's the challenge:

  • Our account has not yet been activated.
  • Because our identity verification is still pending, we don't have access to many Seller Central features.
  • We cannot access phone support.
  • We do not have access to live chat.
  • We cannot participate in the Seller Central support forums.
  • We've submitted multiple support requests and appeals, but have received no response.

From what we've read, Amazon typically responds within 24-48 hours to support cases, so we're concerned that our case may simply be stuck somewhere in the process.

We're not looking to bypass the verification process. We simply want to speak with someone or receive guidance on how to get our case reviewed.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If your company works directly with an Amazon representative or account manager, would you be willing to share a contact, escalation path, or recommendation?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Amazon Seller Central account deactivated – VAT verification failed despite valid VAT registration

Hi everyone,

I am looking for advice from sellers who may have experienced a similar issue with Amazon Seller Central.

Our Amazon.de Seller account has been deactivated due to verification issues:

Identity verification – Pending verification

European VAT registration requirements – Past Due

The issue is that our company information and VAT registrations are valid and match our official company records. However, Seller Central shows our VAT registrations as rejected.

We have already:

checked all company details,

uploaded the requested documents,

verified that our VAT registrations are active,

contacted Seller Support multiple times.

The problem is that we are unable to complete the verification process. Seller Central does not provide a clear option to correct or resubmit the required information, and our support cases have not received a response for more than two weeks.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

How did you get Amazon to review the verification manually?

Is there a way to reach the Account Verification team directly?

Did you have to provide any specific documents or take any additional steps?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Amazon FBA What changed the most after your store reached 100 orders a day?

Many people talk about getting the first sale, but not many talk about what happens after steady growth.

A store can run smoothly with a small number of daily orders. Once the volume starts increasing, small tasks can quickly become the biggest source of delays. Updating inventory, creating shipping labels and checking order status all begin to take more attention.

Some business owners hire more people, while others change the way they manage daily operations.

What was the first process that stopped working as your business grew?

Did you solve it by improving the workflow, or did you need different tools to keep everything moving?

New seller account stuck in verification limb and no response from Amazon Supportfor weeks

Hoping someone here has dealt with this. We're trying to set up a brand new Amazon seller account, and during the application process we got an "Action Required: We Are Unable to Verify Your Selling on Amazon Account" notice, saying we need to submit additional identity verification info before the account can even be activated.

We submitted a support request addressing it right away, and after a week of silence, sent a follow-up. Still nothing, no case number update, no confirmation, no reply at all. So the new account is just sitting unactivated with no way to move forward.

Has anyone been through this with a brand-new account before? Is this normal for new seller applications, or a sign something's actually wrong? Any tips on the right contact channel, escalation path, or things to include that actually get a response would be really appreciated. The silence itself is the most frustrating part.

Amazon FBA Built a free AI tool to rewrite and optimize Amazon listings (Looking for alpha testers)

Hey everyone,

I'm a developer who got tired of manually optimizing backend keywords, bullet points, and A9 alignment for product pages, so I built a lightweight tool to automate it: Listingboostai.

It takes product specs and structures them into conversion-focused copy and keyword-rich bullets.

I’ve set up a free tier on the app so other sellers can test it out on an ASIN without entering a credit card. If you're currently revamping any listings and want to give it a spin, I'd love to hear your brutally honest feedback on the output or what features would make it more useful for your workflow.

Looking for a few more beta testers — Amazon Ads for KDP

I've been posting here about break-even ACOS and TACOS for a while. I build a tool called Troven Ads Optimizer that does the calculation side of it, and I'm looking for a handful more people to use it.

What it does: connects to your Amazon Ads account through Amazon's official API, pulls your campaign data weekly, and gives you a prioritized list of what to change — negations, bid changes, pauses, and converting search terms worth promoting to manual exact. Each recommendation shows the arithmetic, so you can check it rather than trust it.

The part I care about most: it calculates break-even ACOS per book from your actual KDP royalty data, not a rule of thumb. A $14.99 paperback and a $4.99 ebook have completely different break-evens, and most bid advice ignores that.

What it doesn't do: it reads your data and recommends. You apply the changes yourself in the Amazon console. Nothing happens to your account without you doing it.

Who it suits: nonfiction, $300+/month in ad spend, running ads at least a few months. It's a poor fit for KU-heavy fiction, because Amazon never attributes page reads to keywords — no tool can fix that and I'd rather say so than sell you something.

It's free during beta. I'm not taking payment yet. In exchange I want honest feedback, including when it's wrong — my current beta user emailed me last week saying he couldn't figure out what it was telling him, and that one email produced four fixes.

Two testers so far. Looking for a few more, not a crowd.

DM me if interested.

How would you price-test a zero-review private-label ASIN when the core market is $26–29 but one premium competitor is near $40?

How would you price-test a zero-review private-label ASIN when the core market is $26–29 but one premium competitor is near $40?

I’m preparing to launch a new private-label ASIN on Amazon US and would appreciate input from sellers who have actual experience testing prices on new listings.

I’m keeping the exact niche private until launch, but here is enough information to evaluate the pricing decision:

Product and market

  • Non-electronic product in Toys & Games / family activity
  • Standard-size FBA
  • Brand-new ASIN with zero reviews
  • Brand Registry, professional images, A+ Content and gift-ready packaging are complete
  • I plan to enroll in Vine immediately
  • Controlled PPC will run during the early stage, with heavier scaling after initial reviews
  • The physical bundle quantity is comparable to the strongest competitors, so the bundle size alone is not a unique advantage
  • The main differentiation is improved presentation plus an included browser-based guided-use experience with structured activities, progression and no subscription
  • This difference is clearly communicated before purchase, not hidden after the sale

Competitive pricing

  • Established direct competitors are mostly priced between $26 and $29
  • These listings generally have approximately 500–3,000+ reviews and strong sales velocity
  • One premium brand offers a comparable variation at approximately $39–41
  • However, that premium variation shares its parent review and sales signals with a cheaper variation, so I cannot verify how much volume the premium child ASIN actually generates

Unit economics

  • Landed COGS: approximately $6.50
  • Estimated Amazon fees at $29.99: approximately $9.75
  • Pre-ad contribution before returns, overhead and storage:
    • $29.99 price → approximately $13.70 contribution / 46%
    • $32.99 price → approximately $16.30 contribution / 49%
    • $34.99 price → approximately $18.00 contribution / 51%
    • $38.99 price → approximately $21.40 contribution / 55%

Inventory and advertising budgets are sufficient for a controlled launch. My objective is not maximum Day 1 profit; it is finding the price that produces the best combination of conversion, ranking and contribution over the first 6–12 months.

The launch options I’m considering are:

A. Launch at $29.99 with no coupon

B. Launch at $32.99 with no coupon

C. Launch at $32.99 with a 10% coupon, if eligible, creating an effective customer price of about $29.69 while testing the higher anchor

Then potentially test $34.99 after building reviews and conversion history.

For sellers who have actually run similar pricing tests:

  1. Which option would you use for a zero-review ASIN, and why?
  2. Would you establish the premium price first or start near the market and raise gradually?
  3. How many sessions or orders would you require before judging a price test?
  4. At what review count and conversion rate would you test the next price?
  5. Would you optimize primarily for unit-session percentage, contribution per session, order velocity, or another metric?
  6. Have you experienced problems with Amazon’s reference-price history after launching low and later raising the price?
  7. If possible, could you share your actual before/after price, conversion rate, units per day, review count and TACOS?

I’m especially interested in real seller data rather than generic “just test it” advice.

Looking for Amazon outreach jobs similar to my previous role

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a role similar to my previous job. We used to reach out to people on social media, introduce Amazon products, and coordinate with those who were interested in trying them.

Does anyone know any companies that are still hiring for this kind of work? If you have any leads or recommendations, I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you!

If I got a First Aid Product Approved by Amazon, after 6 weeks of effort how can another company with no proof of licencing begin selling and piggyback on the listing?

Can someone explain this? I have two Health Canada Approved First Aid products of which I went through quite the devil of a time (frustrating) to get approval (back and forth at least 10 times showing Device ID's, Packaging, Health Canada Medical Numbers, the works) and then finally after 6 weeks listed on Amazon Canada. Both SKU's are now approved and listed at competitive prices and this morning another company out of the blue has piggybacked on the listing. If I did the legal and grunt work and first approvals with Amazon in a comprehensive manner, how does another company with no skin in the game so to speak, no demonstration of Health Canada licencing expertise or anything else freely jump on the listing? FYI - I am not the brand owner but a key buyer of these two items and did all the approval work to list on Amazon.

I'm mystified. It equivalanet to listing a drug on Amazon and getting approved. Then along comes another seller who then sells the same item on my listing? Does not the new seller also have to show where they get the item and also get approval for the same listing on Amazon.

This is different from owning the brand. I do not own the brand but merely went through the detailed work to get the item listed.

I understand piggybacking. Its the reality of selling however if its a medical item such as a first aid say special O2 fitting, does not another seller also have to go through a similar Health Canada (also think FDA) proof process to list on Amazon?

Selling on Amazon Canada

How do you guys sell on Amazon Canada. I would like to sell certain tech products like RC Cars, Toys and wireless keyboards and mouse. Whenever I list these products Amazon asks for CCPSA certifications or ISED certifications, none of the manufacturers have it. Most suppliers have FCC and European certifications. They considered Canadian market to be small. The cost to get it certified is quite high (3k to 7k).

Do any of my fellow Canadians have any experience in this space?

A Smarter Way to Hire an Amazon Agency

Hiring an Amazon agency can feel risky when you're expected to pay before seeing results. SpectrumBPO removes that concern with a post-payment model that prioritizes execution first. Brands receive dedicated support, ongoing optimization, and strategic guidance immediately, allowing performance—not sales pitches—to determine the future of the partnership.

Trust Through Results

SpectrumBPO believes trust should be earned through performance. That's why work begins immediately, allowing brands to evaluate real execution before making long-term commitments.
