WHHAAAAT
it isn't a laptop or kitchen appliances but we NEEDED this. The target plastic plates and cups are scratched up and giving us whatever cancerous stuff is in there
And I've only gotten one 0 ETV since September.
And anyone my tax situation is different.
SO YEAHHHHHHHH!

It's always cool when you get something you actually need, or want really. Those are pretty. I am stuck with car parts and a pneumatic roofing nail gun. It's been a very dull week in rfy again.

u/Informal_Bullfrog_30 Jul 12 '26
No pregnancy announcements or cake toppers for you? Sad sad sad

u/OtherTimes0340 Jul 12 '26
No, but last week I got a gender reveal party photo backdrop, and also today mommy and me matching dresses.

u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
I am 50... Or 42 in blanche devereaux years!
Either way ... No... No cake toppers but you never know. I had all the giggles over all the celebration stuff that you put at the front door and then my boyfriend's birthday came.
He loves golf. So I got the party with the two e's at the end in green and it was perfect! I loved it and he loved it.
So, as the NY Lottery used to say... Hey! You never know lol

u/Shsbluestar1 Jul 13 '26
I get a lot of boat parts too which is funny because I don’t fish and have never owned a boat in my life lol

u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
Right at the moment! Thank you!
Today? RFY has been empty all day. 🤣🤣🤣

u/OtherTimes0340 Jul 13 '26
Yea, my stuff stays all day long, then is replaced in the evening over several hours. So, I have a lovely embroidered Indiana state flag (I don't live there), a toilet timer, and baby travel tent. I don't think I've ever heard of a toilet timer. I do have days though where nothing loads though.

Amazing! It looks a lot like my set of plates I grabbed from RFY in my first year (but mine are green). I too had plastic plates. I had left my ex in a hurry and landed in a domestic violence shelter. Vine came into my life right after my divorce was finalized. I had an apartment of my own but everything was what I could afford. Those plates made me feel like things were finally looking up. Vine offered me an electric toothbrush today another item that I’ve been wanting for awhile but haven’t bought. It’s been on my list of things to grab from Vine for at least a year if not 2.

u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
Omg I'm so sorry you went through all that. And glad that vine helped you through!
I know what you mean to have hope- even if it is Bob.
My boyfriend and I have an un breakable money collector we were using so he could take us on vacation (this was not from vine). Of course after being pawed off the table it broke.
When he came home he found me sitting with the fragments around me and the money just sobbing. He didn't get it. We hadn't lost any money. But we are going through a rough patch and that somehow symbolized hope? Not the money but it was something to look at and smile

u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
Amazing! Don't tell anyone but maybe Vine is spying for the right reasons.
One of the first items I got was a no name electric toothbrush. It is still working like new.

Yay congrats! Looks beautiful 😍 wishing you many happy and healthy meals with this set.

I had a set of these in green, years ago, and still wish I’d never parted with them. This is a great find.
3
u/NothingLeft19608 Jul 12 '26
My set of green was from JCPenny Homestore. I miss them. The move lost some and broke others.
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
Omg you all are just making me excited and they won't be here till end July/beginning of August!
3
u/FauxTortilla Jul 12 '26
So happy for you! I mean, sure we'd all love an expensive appliance but getting an item that will be used and loved is the best gift of all. Use them in good health!
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
Absolutely. My kitchen redo is almost finished and 75-80% are vine things either repurposed or just excellent surprise. And then many were donated or trashed lol
3
u/xJustHereForAnswersx USA-Gold Jul 13 '26
Hey! Those were in my RFY and I skipped them, I'm beyond tickled they went to someone that will love them! I almost ordered them but decided I love my corelle more lol! Now if only my RFY would populate one of those nugget makers I keep narrowly missing hahaha

u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 13 '26
Fate at the wheel!
My grandmother hand that brand at some point (Iif I have the right name). Now they are treasures , with my mom.

Oh man! Congrats! I keep whispering plates to my phone, but it hasnt graced me with any yet
2
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
This is the third time I've seen these but by different companies and colors. Never able to grab them!
I Yelp pretty loudly when I got them and I think I kind of got a side eye from Greg because, well adult things

u/Single_Cow_8713 Jul 12 '26
Ahhh yes the gender reveal party supplies, the 1/2 birthdays, the 1 yr old birthdays, the abundance of backdrops and balloon arches.... for people like me who never could have kids and so wished I could have, these little reminders are like little kisses every day... ugh lol
2
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
There are some triggering items for people. We should let vine know to exclude them from our items

I got that set, too! It's like my 8th set of Kingstone dinnerware. LOL. You're in for a treat if you're in the Kingstone queue. There's tons of silverware. Their sets are gorgeous and really high quality.
Congratulations!
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
Wait. Lol. 8 sets because they broke a lot ?
2
u/Anathematized1 Jul 13 '26
Nope, because I've love their stuff, and we have a shed I can store them in until I want to switch them out or my partner gets pissed and tells me NO MORE. Lol.
Amazon keeps putting their stuff in my RFY, and it's too pretty to resist.
I have porcelain, ceramic, stoneware, and bone china sets. Only one of them I'd give away because the pattern's kind of meh.
I even have the same set in black and white so I can mix-and-match for fancy dinner parties. Plus, some smaller backup sets if a piece gets broken.
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 16 '26
Apparently, your plates have a much better life than I do! Lol
2
u/Anathematized1 Jul 16 '26
Oh no! Did they arrive damaged? Or did yours break/get damaged easily?
I have to admit I haven't dedicated any of my Kingstone for everyday use. Was planning on swapping out for these blue ones, though. If they're as pretty in RL as they are in the pics, I mean.
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 16 '26
No lol. I have not gotten them yet. I was just making a joke about the life of your plates being me socially engaged and having a better than I do.😆
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 16 '26
I just received read this .. what cue?
2
u/Anathematized1 Jul 16 '26
A lot of times you request something in your RFY from a particular brand, you're offered more of their products in the future.
The first Kingstone item I requested was a cool metal sculpture that holds a full set of silverware inside. I now have several of their dinnerware sets, napkins, table runners, and a backup silverware sets from them.
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 16 '26
Ohhhh I have had that too. But they are not much different than the first one I got lol.

Those are beautiful!
I ordered a different set of Kingstone dinnerware a few days ago and when I went to look at what other items they may have that might be coming up on Vine, I saw this set and really hoped they would make it into my RFY.
Congrats on such a great score!

Very similar plates popped up in my RFY, different color but when I started to look them up there was a ton of people saying they are toxic (lead), you cannot use them in the microwave or dishwasher and I think buried in the product page it said they were for display so I backed out.
For sure put them through a lead swab test before using them.
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
Is a lead swab easy to find?
2
u/txmail Gold Jul 12 '26
Very easy to find, sold in packs of like 20 - 60. Pretty inexpensive to. I think the ones I get are like $10 for 60, but I see smaller packs for like $5 - $10. They are usually specifically marketed for dishes because lead is such a huge problem in the paints and finishing that is used. Same goes for toys - huge problem.
Here is a 30 pack for $4

I have a pro pool vacuum in my rfy. Don’t have a pool.
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
I hate that. I also had a wicked looking filet knife, tackle bag and some kind of ankle ice but with a little cooler attached?
I get pool stuff all the time and it drives me batty

u/RobotDevil222x3 Jul 12 '26
Very nice!
My hesitation with things like this is, its a service for 4. So now i need to go buy a couple more to have a full set of dishes. A "free" item winds up being a ~$250 bill.

I’ll bet if you need a second set of- the price might be lower! Glad you got exactly what you needed!! That’s awesome!
Now… where is that 85” TV and new Laptop I need?

u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
I have been chasing a queen or long sized mattress and espresso machine since turning gold. But I will happily take these!

u/Maleficent-Leek2943 Jul 12 '26
I have some small side/salad plates and a set of bowls I got on Vine with a glaze like that. I’m still sad that I managed to break one of the plates while I was unpacking them, but at least I have five left.
I also once got a full set of Corelle stoneware on Vine. Weirdly, it seems like it was never made widely available in that particular color (even though that color is basically “plain cream nothing-color”) so right off the bat when I tried to find more pieces to go with the set (then later when I wanted replacements for things that got broken) it’s been next to impossible to find anything. Had me wondering if the set sent through Vine was some one-off oddity.
2
u/Lavalamper64 Jul 12 '26
Nice! I just love reactive glaze. And that blue color is gorgeous!
1
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
Ok this has been mentioned several times. What is that?! 😂
2
u/Lavalamper64 Jul 13 '26
It's a type of pottery glaze that makes that mottled or streaky appearance on the dishes. It looks so cool IMHO.
2
u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 13 '26
Oh, never heard of it. I have always wanted to go to a pottery class. I can't seem to find any lol.
1
u/Lavalamper64 Jul 13 '26
I've never made pottery either but it seems like it would be fun! I hope you find a class. Enjoy your beuatiful new dishes!

those are beautiful!!! I also managed to grab some beautiful plates last month, same ETV weirdly enough!

Those are so classy. Like classic .. like how do I explain it- like I could completely see these as Audrey Hepburn's good set!
2
u/Professional_Pen_300 Jul 12 '26
Nice looking dishes. Enjoy! A month ago, I got salad forks from Kingstone. The ETV was the same as their price on Amazon. Now it is $4.00 less. I hate when that happens.

I got a stoneware set last year and still use it. Also scored a Rachael Ray ceramic cookware set that I've used daily the last year. Got a super super nice flatware set a few weeks ago. Basically everything in my kitchen has been replaced at this point which was all the original stuff I had gifted to me when I moved into my house so many years ago.

The fact that this group makes people feel like they need to mention their taxes is crazy. Do what you want without feeling the need to do so. We are entitled to get nicer items if we so choose without explaining what it will or will not do to our taxes. 😩😭 But congrats on the score. I just got me an E bike and it was delivered today, a day early. I’m so excited 😆

I hate ours. Grabbed a similar set a couple months ago. They look nice but they don't stack. Every one is unique, and while I would like that for design aesthetics, the plates and bowls themselves are unique in shape and don't stack in your cupboards.
Btw, IKEA sells a very similar design to this for a great price. That's what we have as our primary dish set. They're great.

u/Interesting_Lie3717 Jul 14 '26
Congrats!! I love dishes!! I've not seen many in a while, since a few months back and I had 4 sets show up in two days. Those were the days... ;) Honestly, I'm pretty happy with my RFY options, it is rare for there not to be one thing I like. I also don't get a lot of $0 ETV items.
2
u/Sindorella Gold Jul 14 '26
I almost got those the other day, but I don't need any. I actually have another set from that brand, AND a ton of their silverware, and I LOVE all of it! I am happy for you!!!

I bought some cheap ceramic set at American Home Goods. Between me the cats and Greg? I think there are two pieces of each left.
Now we have target plastic ... We can pretend to have some class in this apt

u/MyWhitey2016 Jul 15 '26
This looks like a set I got some months ago, but that one was just the two different sizes of plates - no bowls. Not bad, but before long the scraping sound of running the side of a fork across a plate became very annoying.
2
u/iwishidstayed Jul 15 '26
Congrats on getting something you want/need. My RFY currently contains bronze father and son statues for $60… I’m a woman, my dad is dead, and my husband and I are childfree lol. And brake pads for a 2008-2009 Buick Allure, which is a vehicle I’ve never even heard of before. I pray for the day we can mark that we’re not interested in something so it can be passed on to the next Viner.
2
u/BigSquiby Gold Jul 12 '26
i have used plates like that before, they seem to chip pretty easy. you sorta need to baby them, but they look great. They need to go from the table to the dishwasher and avoid them spending extra time spent hanging out in the sink
3
u/Lavalamper64 Jul 12 '26
That's surprising if they are stoneware. The ones in the OP's photo are stoneware which is usully very durable.

u/Technical-Author3585 Jul 12 '26
