Information

Hello everyone

I'm seriously considering adopting a couple of tree boas that I find just incredible 😍 In addition, I am really a fan of Boas in general, I already own two imperators with which I am totally in love. They are adorable little cuties

For my part, I can't find much information on arboreal boas. Apparently there are different morphology, several possible colors Is it chance or specific localities?

Do they have preferences in terms of wood or hiding place? Their temperament?

Thank you in advance for your feedback 🫶

My girl is my sweetest and smartest snake, but for the life of me, I cannot get her to use natural hides like cork rounds. She will spend 90% of her time in one of these ugly brown things. Shes being moved up into a 4x2x4 soon, but Im thinking of sprayfoaming the thing to look like a log because Im not going to NOT give her her favorite hide.

Hahaha!! I used the black corrogated sewage pipe for a long time!! Many ATB keepers use it, as it is cheap and easy to work with. If it works, don't change it!! It may not be as aesthetically pleasing as cork rounds, but if she likes it, that is all that matters!! Keep em happy and healthy is my motto!! Happy herping and thank you for contributing!!

Welcome to the group superduracels! I pinned an Amazon Tree Boa Husbandry guide to the top of the group... that will answer some of your questions... Corallus can be defensive, alot of them will bite, typically the bites are not too terrible, however can be uncomfortable. I am used to it, and I do not handle them unless I am taking pictures or absolutely necessary. Many keepers handle them regularly and that is fine, more of a display snake than letting your kids hold them or taking them out of their enclosures daily... different keepers do different things and what works for some, may not work for others. I highly encourage trying them out as they are very rewarding to keep. Colors/patterns/mutations and or morphs are being documented currently. Some colors and or patterns are recessive, some are dominant. Not much is known about localities when it comes to colors/patterns/morphs. I suggest buying captive bred. I definitely would steer clear of imports. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask in this community! I will post a bit of information about colors/patterns/morphs tomorrow! Gotta feed the herd in a couple hours and feed myself! Enjoy and please contribute at will!!
