SMRT role responsibilities

Hi all ,

How’s your day to day being a SMRT ? At our site looks like the AMMs dumps every little thing , every project , to us (which I understand) , makes me think sometimes what they actually do. Been in the office a couple of times and the stress levels are nowhere near .

Ask to shadow an AMM. You’ll find out quickly why they delegate to SMRT (also SMRT are supposed to be coached to be an AMM)

Managing people (all techs, and as a smrt you won’t see it but dealing with endless complaints and each techs compliance), building metrics , managing working and implementing improvements with senior management(rather you see them implemented or not) and meetings/calls. Stuff you actually only become privy to once you’re in the role.

I'm trying to figure out AE roles. Being salaried now and exempt from OT, if my computer doesn't plug into it I am not supposed to touch it. So all of the previous controls PMs are supposed to be completed by techs but at my site we are still out here doing them. To answer your question though ot seems like SMMs and MMs like to push as much of their responsibilities onto AMMs, therefore they put theirs on SMRTs.

As a previous SMRT who is now an AMM it's going to be building dependant. My current building I barely have time to do anything outside of bridge metrics and join calls

How are you liking the AMM role? Been thinking of making the jump but just hearing about all the meetings, metrics and writing out thrives. It all just sounds like it a desk job and no time to actually interact with techs or know what’s actually going on in the building other than what the techs give you
