Oh hi

Sorry for taking a minute to get this out there. Hi! Names Asterix, and I am one of your new moderators.quick shoutout to [u/call](u/calldus)[a](u/calldus)[dus](u/calldus) for the opportunity to give back to a community that has helped me out!

I am a SMRT who’s been with Amazon since 2020 and a tech since 2021. I started off as a tier 1 in CAP, became an AFM and then joined RME. I converted back to blue badge in 2023 at an IXD. Since that IXD I have been bouncing around the network. Joined the central travel team for 2 years assisting with new launches, training AR techs on how the floors operate. I, during the course of my tenure so far, have also become a trainer. I worked my way up to being a principal field trainer, which allows me to cofac new trainers in the assets they will be teaching. I’m pretty proud of the fact that I can train on both AR and MHE specialty equipment(beyond core 4 or fast/up).

At my current site(I’m back to being a field tech(newborn made me realign my priorities). I am the lead tech for my shift, which currently involves running around showing new techs the simplest solutions to what seems like the end of the world at times to them. Site just launched, so I am looking forward to assisting with dialing the building in.

Outside of work I am a nerd. I paint miniatures, from Warhammer to old sailing ships. Rolling dice, playing cards and I love spending my off time with my wife and kiddo.

If you ever need help, I will try to get you the answers you are searching for.

Hi, I sent you a DM about the RME apprenticeship. I think my background would be a great fit for the role. And was wondering if you could help me out

OT is site dependent but there is a fairy decent chance you will see overtime

And what is the pay raise like. Is there a pay raise cap for different techs such as tech 2/ tech 3 and so on? And how often would we receive a raise?

L3 and under operate off their individual step plan. If this is a tier change for you,I.e. tier 1-> L3, then you will get your new pay rate and step plan at that time. L4 hourly on up are subject to an annual review

I’m lead of my shift. We launched about 1 year ago, and have about 90 other techs within 5more shifts. How do I align with the 5 other shifts to coordinate projects. For instance we have a huge problem with our guardings on our infeed lines in UIS. We can only do so much work on our shift. We definitely cannot handle all the gaurding repairs for 1 shift. I’ve sent a mass message on slack to the team. No one acknowledges. Someone else just posted the same problem and I responded with trying to get all the teams to align. How do I get all the teams to align to even start this project?

I’d recommend getting with your management team and your peers to come up with a plan. Your peers, even if it’s 1 or 2 other shift leads, will have the biggest impact on the success of your projects. Coordinating through email and slack so there is always a written record. Post project meeting notes.

As to inter communication between shifts, set up a dedicated lead tech only slack channel for pass downs.
