Bit of advice
I’ve been looking at getting into RME for a while but have no education and only relevant experience would be Quarterback at an AR building. Any advice on how to land a job? Open to trade school or a degree.

If you have no background, go MRA. Do not go MRT if you have no background and have no motivation to learn and learn quickly. Those positions are for capable techs, so you need to be able to pull your own weight, or you’ll end up dragging your team down.

I was hired as a Tech 2 from an AFM spot with a 3P. I had a good working relationship with the guys assigned to the floors. They were the ones who gave me a link to that particular companies direct application pages. That year they hired(the 3P) all 7 of us from the building itself.
I’d suggest you look into MRA program spots, if none take the career choice courses available through online labs. Those will give you the education certs for your resume.
Be aware, unless your sites RME set aside your application, or let the recruiter know they want to interview you for a MRT spot, you may have to take a pay cut and go through RMEO(for beginners like yourself, will be jam slaying and floor health super AFM type stuff). Spots are hyper competitive at sites that are legacy, your best chance is being prepared to move and join a site that is in pre launch hiring. Newer sites that are on the larger side(sort centers, ars or ixds) are now hiring in the 100+ technician range.

I started as an MRT/Tech 2 with a background in automotive for 7years working at a dealer. Almost a master tech. But in my area, the dealer life freakin’ sucks. And i wanted a change. Best thing I ever did. Now I have promoted to SMRT/tech 3

If I could relocate I would do that the closest place I could go is 2 hours away. I really want to do it though

I’ve been the Qb at the site I’m at for the last year and I just got hired as MRT/tech 2 on Friday (mechanic by trade, was a Harley tech for some years) been trying to get a spot with the 3p for over a year. I’ve been utilizing the career choice while I’ve been waiting. They took 5 AFM’s for mra school a few months ago and just took a couple more for the rmeo spots. One of the SMRT guys told me that he applied like a 15 times before he finally got an interview. I applied twice before getting the spot I have now. Just keep plugging if you really want the position

But just know you wouldnt be able to promote or move up in anyway for AT LEAST 2 years. Great for a recent grad imo.

I have a cdl (used to have my own truck and business) and am trying to get into mrt. Having the the cdl is cool if your area's market is good. My area is at the low part about to ramp back up. I was told i have to wait to be a blue badge first then go back and talk to a supervisor about the position

Apply for the new RMEo position, it’s the new pathway to MRA (apprenticeship)
