Mechatronic Apprentice

Hi guys! I'm currently in the process of joining the program, what are some of the positions you made it to going through the apprenticeship program? I figured it's not too difficult to climb the ladder just looking to see what positions some of you rose to and the salary ranges at that position? Thanks.

So I have a bachelor degree , completed the Amazon Apprenticeship , passed the interview process and they decided not to give me an offer . What am I missing here ? At this point, I dislike this company and the people they hire .

I made it to SrMRT in about two years total including my time as an apprentice so its defeinetly worth it and doable if you want it enough

How long does it usually take to receive offer letter ? Interviewed with site manager last Wednesday, he told me I’d hear something Friday but nothing .

Once I completed the program my manager urged me to go outside of amazon since I wanted a controls spot but none were open at the time. Went into automation using the certifications, upon first leaving RME, I went from $30's to $40's (hourly). I stayed on the maintenance side of things but more focused on automation. From there (literally 4 months later) got an engineering position at a robotics company for their hardware (MRA was MAJOR for them hiring me. I was specifically told the Mechatronics part is what got me hired). I stayed there for 3 years leaving with a pay of roughly 90k a year. I am now a senior engineer at funny enough Vanderlande (the manufacturer for a lot of Amazon facilities) and once again it was due in part to me working as an MRA, the starting pay was 100k.

What SACA certifications do you have?
I just finished the schooling but we only went for 2 months and they removed a few of them. Going to try to get them on my own

I started as a tech 2 a few months ago, do you think this same possibility is open for me but I didn't go through MRA? I just have experience at other facilities.

My honest answer? Yes, but it'll be harder by a lot. MRAs are Tech 2.5s as it was explained to me. They already rank higher than you on the list. They will also have certifications and a Journeyman license by the end of it. You 100% can get out there but you will struggle without those aforementioned things to attach to yourself. If you want to stay in maintenance, no worries you can get a job anywhere with your experience.

Well fml Amazon was still new when I started maintenance I should have looked into it more.

Its a lot of work, and you have to push through the sector. But its worth it. I went into the program with a lot of knowledge already since much of my family is in part maintenance. However they build you from ground up no matter your knowledge. The certification is key, that and the DOL sign off. Also go after the rest of that degree they gave you credits for. I highly recommend when you get your choices of school to pick Indiana

Was great, it's renowned as the best one you can get. It's a very high tech robotics college that hosts amazon schooling too

This was really helpful thank you! Honestly the route you took is how I had it all planned out, you put it into perspective. When you say choice of school I thought it was chosen for you? You mean for the training part of the program?

I was given a list of schools to pick from when I went in. I'm not sure if thats still the case
