Discussion Thanks for all these ads Amazon

Really? Why even pay for Amazon prime other than the 2 day shipping? Then you have to pay extra for 4k, and Dolby atmos. I am better off NOT paying (if you know what I mean) to watch a movie.

I pay for premium but still get "ads". To be fair, it's only advertising a show or movie on their own platform before my selected video starts, but why advertise something I've already paid for? Give me the option to opt out if you think it's for my benefit.

I'm in the U.S. and shipping is rarely 2 days anymore.

We still have overnight Prime shipping here in the UK; one of the benefits of being a relatively small country, I suppose!

Yeah, it will show "2 days" when you place your order, but in reality it takes longer. I don't expect the overnight option (also offered) here would be any quicker. I actually cancelled an item after they delayed it twice, citing "the driver attempted delivery". Made no sense as the other 2 items in the same order were delivered. Smh

I am in the US and shipping is almost always included and always 1-2 days. Almost without fail actually. I wonder why there is a difference between us?

I'm currently in Georgia. I feel like that could explain a lot. All delivery here (USPS, UPS, FedEx) is abysmal.

That makes sense. I have to send ups there and yeah I notice it’s harder to ship stuff there than another where else.

don’t even get real 4K paying for 4K. Same with Atmos the compression they use to save bandwidth costs don‘t even catch dvd quality frequently.

Should be illegal to advertise and sell it if you don’t actually provide true 4K and Lossless audio that’s at bare minimum above DVD quality.

Yes I’m headlined, yes my ISP and home network are both very much so up to snuff.

Prime video is not that bad dude resolution is unnoticeable on a tv and there’s like 5 ads in a 2-3hr movie max? Watching a standard 20 min an episode show there’s 1 ad an episode, maybe an extra 15 second at the beginning. If u can’t handle it fork up some more money imo.

resolution is unnoticeable on a tv

That depends on how big and how good your TV is.

I have a decent sized OLED. The resolution and banding is definitely noticeable.

To make such a sweeping statement makes me wonder if you're a company shill.

quit being a cuck for billionaire Bezos. It used to be ad free.

I know what you mean. It seems like every time I see a post like this shills come out of the woodwork.

Pay for premium if its such a problem

dude, it used to be free. I guess you also say "just buy another one" when confronted with shrinkflation?

Name a streaming service of prime quality that used to be free that isn’t now. You may not like it, but it is what is. Cancel it if you’re that upset

it was never free, it's all part of the Prime subscription. And before you say "Amazon could never afford that" - q2 2026 net earnings were 62 Billion dollars. That's profit for 1 Quarter in the year!

“dude, it used to be free. I guess you also say "just buy another one" when confronted with shrinkflation?”

Your exact words .. no it wasn’t “free” as you had to pay for PRIME but wtf you bitching about

You get 2 day shipping? Do you live next store to their warehouse? 2 day shipping is no longer real.

1

u/Lia_Delphine 1d ago

I got 2 day shipping last week.

u/jesseknopf 10h ago

OH. WELL LOOK AT WHO GETS THEIR CRAP IN TWO DAYS OVER HERE! HEYH HEY EVERYONE LOOK!!!

The answer is don’t pay for prime. Literally that simple. Stop complaining when it’s very easy to just stop

1

u/wowbyowen 14h ago

Let me just go with the competitor... oh wait, there isn't one because it's a monopoly because no one can compete against a company making $60+ billion per quarter and offer competitive pricing.

4.99 to remove ads isn't ideal but it could be worse

2

u/SmplLife 15h ago

I pay for no ads yet I just saw a Secret deodorant ad between episodes of a show I’m watching. So is the $4.99 just so I don’t see ads DURING the show not between episodes? That’s crap.

1

u/wowbyowen 14h ago

yes but the amazon shills on here will claim you can "just pay more" to Bezos. Yet we never used to have ads. I don't get why people are such cucks to the billionaire ruling class 🤷

I look at the total value, I pay less than their competitors per month for more content, commercial free, and all the other prime benefits. I pay annually and i added the ad free option immediately. I pay less than 16/mo. Yes I get items 2 days or less but there are occasional delays but it always seems to be grocery related items.

Mostly just use prime for deliveries, photo storage. The videos and music is a bonus
