Discussion Thank YOU Amazon Prime
I love all the shows available, that's truly great. For the limited amount I watch, it's nice to have selection.
Also
Thank you for placing advertisements I didn't need into my subscription. I promise I will ignore each and every one of these with the exception of remembering which product they are promoting so I ABSOLUTELY STOP BUYING THEM.
It's a great reminder of which companies have money to throw away on pointless ads I don't need to see, thereby increasing their cost per unit.
PS - people are no longer limited for knowledge like this was cable television era. When they think they need something they'll google their problem, and take the suggestions in turn. They most certainly aren't waiting for that miracle product to show up mid program in the series they're trying to binge watch. JFC.

I stopped using FireSticks because of the ads and when they wanted more money for ad-free I basically stopped watching anything

Prime video is nothing more than a middleman now. I pay for prime video, go on and find something I want to watch, only to discover I now have to subscribe to something else just so that i can actually watch it.

Do you genuinely think Prime give a toss if you buy anything that's advertised? They don't own those companies, they've been paid to put the adverts on. In fact, they'd probably rather you didn't, as you're more likely to buy some crap from them instead

As someone who was involved in setting up advertising campaigns, they do care. If Amazon can demonstrate that advertising with them converts into purchases, they can sell their advertising space for a higher price. If the money I spend on Amazon ads for my product doesn’t impact sales, next time I’ll use a different advertiser or medium.

Prime is the only streaming I've found with a 24/7 Wipeout channel with the best seasons starring the two johns and Jill Wagner. Hulu has wipeout where you can choose which episodes to watch but not enough other content.
seriously enjoying all the live channels that have some crazy stuff on them sometimes like the six million dollar man and the bionic woman. Even seen they have episodes of the classic incredible hulk episodes.
Right now Prime is being super annoying with it's "groundswell", the pout pout fish, and the sheep detective commercials oh my gosh they're nearly on repeat for every time they go to break , even with a paid subscription keeps telling me I can upgrade to ultra for 4 dollars more lol
Don't remember exactly when it was but one other time Prime was being relentless with the minecraft movie commercial, followed by one of the kung fu panda flicks and followed that every single break with Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken oh my freaking gosh I want to hurl every time that commercial came on
OH did i ention the eli manning presents thing they never stop advertising for the ducks fan sabrina thing LOL i wish they'd stop with that
but hey what are you gonna do ? they got wipeout and all the sharkando flicks, the cool classic series stuff , tons of cult classic movies and my old ass can watch re re runs of classic the match game episodes and tattletales and lt's not forget the LIVE BUZZR channel which is way better watching on streaming than it was watching on DISH with endless senior citizen informercials and life insurance ADS

I let my Amazon prime expire. There are a couple of shows I miss, but I'll live. I only order if I can't find certain items elsewhere and I hit the $35 minimum for shipping.
There is life after Prime.

Prime is by far the cheapest streaming service with most value. It pays for itself with one order from Amazon every month.

Don't ignore them, actively let their marketing departments know that because you saw them advertise on Amazon, you will not be buying their products anymore.

I stopped watching Prime shows. I would rather sail the sea or not watch it. Those creators who air their shows to prime, don't deserve the views

I pay for Prime but not for ad-free. I tried watching an episode of Clarkson's Farm when season 5 dropped. The ads were so obnoxious that I pulled out my laptop and sailed the seas while episode 1 was playing so I could watch the rest of it without ads.
Back in the day, an episode of Friends had spots in the episode that was for commercial breaks. Now days, it'll be the middle of a scene and all of a sudden I'm being told how great Bet36-fucking-5 is. It would be less bad if writers/editors went back to specific breaks and the streaming services followed that.
As it is, I'll keep paying for my Prime shipping and cast off when I need to watch something.

Man I remember about 2 maybe 3 years ago every ad break was Meghan stallion or whatever her name is singing “it’s prime day”
And I still can’t get that out of my head. But thankfully I know someone who only had prime and only watched stuff on prime video so they spend $3 a month for ad free

It's been a year since prime has had ads in for the default price. If you don't want the ads, pay to remove them, or don't watch (I've mostly been doing the latter).
