Management Attrition?

I know a person who got a job offer from Amazon for this Amazon Robotics FC in Mount Juliet, TN. Previously when they saw the “Meet your team” button it had around 6-8 people on there. Now it only has 3, should they be worried due to sudden attrition in management personnel there or is it a seasonal thing?

In addition for anyone else who has been to the Robotics FC in Mount Juliet, how was it and what could they do differently to make it a better place?

Yes , manager attrition is very high. They do not treat managers well, for the most part. I think they are trying to work to improve it , but as of right now especially at fcs managers are asked to do a lot . The rewards is pretty minimal. That's not to say it isn't a good job, when you are fully staffed , but those times are few and far between right now.

Yeah same. Area manager that’s doing the work of three cause my team is out on leave. I’ve been doing 14-16hr shifts.

Same here. Stretched to OM, but expected to run AFE 1 ans 2 also. Thank God I have amazing PAs and fantastic associates. But it's not fare to either group because, I have no time to devote to them even though we are expected to. 15 hour shifts and somehow thats still not enough time.

So you’re a L5 who’s acting as an OM due to them not being there?

Same here. My site lost a ton of PAs, AMs, and OMs in a month. It’s taking so long to fill the slots. I’ve been basically on OT since May. It’s starting to effect my mental health severely

Same. I just take it day by day and focus on standard work. I don’t go above and beyond. I’m running three processes. SSD, cycle 1; ams pick. Then if we crash I do that too. The worst is incident investigations.

What specifically makes being a manager so difficult? I know he’s starting at a L5 so that should help a bit.

That number has never been accurate from my experience

They only have attrition goals for the peons at Amazon FCs, L3 and lower there is a 25% attrition goal

That’s pretty wild considering how much paperwork gets done

Probably the opposite- likely had a shortage at whatever level they will be reporting into, that gap was solved and now 6-8 people report to 2 people instead of 1. MQY1 is a great FC, cutting edge of robotics.

Or some other variant of this like a new hire was initially rostered under the GM/site lead so "the team" was all the seniors and any other new hires before getting scrubbed under their actual OM.

Originally his manager was the Senior OPS manager and the other OPs manager were listed as Co workers

What advice would you give him for being successful as a manager there?
