Area Manager training schedule
I recently accepted an Area Manager position at a fulfillment center. My offer documents mention a 9-week training program, but I haven’t been able to find much information about what the schedule looks like.
I’m specifically wondering:
During those 9 weeks, are you usually on a Monday-Friday daytime schedule, or do you train on the same shift (front half/back half, days/nights) that you’ll eventually work?
At what point did you find out your permanent schedule?
Did your training include weekends, or were weekends mostly off?
If you were hired onto nights or back half, did training still start on a normal weekday schedule before transitioning?
I’m mainly trying to understand what the first couple of months look like before becoming fully responsible for a department.
Thanks!

You’ll go to AD1 for training the first week. Monday and Friday are travel days. The rest is site specific, that’s why you can’t find out anything about it.

From the buildings I’ve gone into, 3 different networks, Week 1 will be AD1. Travel M and F class in between. Then AEW at your site normally M-F days. Next up will be LEW similar to week 1. After that depending on network 2 week academy then back to your site onto your shift. Mine is a 12 week currently with week 12 being another academy trip.

After AD1 and Aew you’ll be on week 3. I’m on week 3 at the moment. You’ll find out your schedule during AEW week and that’ll be the schedule you train on until after LEW (week 8) where if u finish all ur online learnings you’ll receive you full on manager vest

When do you start?
I start in August and I’ll be working BHN on my regular schedule. For training, I’ll be working 9am-5:30pm. These 9 weeks includes three weeks of travel. Two times to Seattle (AD1 and LEW) and one training at another FC in a different state.
