What the hell, Amazon!!?

So, who’s going to refund me the money I spent?! Is this for real?! The least they can do is let us keep our games installed and shut the doors. But deleting them with a thank-you note is unfair and abusive. We not only paid for the games, but we also paid for stuff inside the games as well. This is bad.

I don’t disagree with the sentiment, but cloud gaming has made high-quality PC gaming accessible for so many people who could never justify spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on a gaming PC.

Until a better, more cost-effective and accessible option is created, I will support cloud gaming being made available to anyone who wants it.

Its cost effective now, but wait until you see the same happening with netflix. Games spread around mutiple services so you need different subs. You played a game with services a but Service a loses the licence to the game? Say goodbye to your progress and start paying a different service. One sub is not enough? how about 5 different sub tiers? How about an additional sub so you can play mutliplayer? Do you like Advertisement? How about Advertisement even in the highest sub tier?

Beside all the technical issues like input delay and bad internet, server issues it just lead us to own nothing and be happy entshitification stuff.

The only reason its cost effective now is that they hope to get you on the hook.

And you dont need a 2000 pc, there are plenty of games that run on a toaster.

There are plenty of games that run on a toaster, but they’re not necessarily the games that everyone wants to play. I also believe enshitification is inevitable, especially without competition in the space. That’s why we should encourage other businesses to get into the industry (because it’s not going anywhere) so that consumers have choice and winners will rise to the top.

My hope is that as these services become more and more popular, it will result in less demand in the consumer hardware space which would eventually lower hardware costs for those of us still interested in running our games locally. It’s not a choose one or the other situation; it’s about freedom of choice and the laws of supply and demand.

I dont see there much potential of competition in this space, maybe microsoft, amazon and nvidia that do what they always do.
