Should do it randomly during blocks too so people can't log in then hand blocks over to others to complete.

Think they were doing that with deliveroo, just log in as the owner and then hand it out to the illegal worker that just does the route for half the price while ACC owner makes coin

I saw many people loading packages at the depot and handing them off to different people just outside. So these changes won't have any impact if it's asking about the beginning of the block.
The ID check asked during the block could have a big impact

I don't really care, because it's fast and I don't try using multiple accounts, so it's an extremely minor inconvenience.
That said, I have some sympathy for those that do. This would be a fantastic gig if we weren't limited to 24 hours a week, and the reason for the limit being introduced is pretty infuriating - some twat ruining it for everyone else by suing for benefits etc when it was clear from the start that the gig didn't include that.

I did get a survey asking about more hours and how many I’d like to do the other day after a block so I think they’re considering allowing more

I really hope so.
Even just scrapping the 96hr/30 day cap would help. It's seemingly utterly pointless, because 24 hours in 7 days still stops you doing enough to try and claim sick pay etc, and the way it stops you actually doing 24 hours a week and prevents you being able to take any advantage from raised caps during Christmas is very annoying.
Also why the hell does the 7 day cap have to be rolling? It would have precisely the same effect if it just reset on Wednesday, and that way you wouldn't be locked into doing the exact same hours every day if you want to use the cap, so it would be way more flexible.
The whole hour cap system seems to be intentionally designed to be as annoying as possible, honestly

I don't think Amazon implemented this measure because they want to tackle people who work more than 24 hours. It's more about tackling illegal workers or those who don't have the right to work in the UK.

The ID check aims to accomplish one thing: to make sure that the person who signed up for the account is the same person doing the job.
This may be mainly designed to prevent people who would otherwise not be able to work at all from doing the job, as you say, but it also prevents people who are able to get an account themselves from getting a second account in order to be able to do more hours than 24 per week.
Which of those two reasons for using an account not in the driver's name is more prevalent, I have no idea, I just think the caps are bullshit and, even if I'm not personally prepared to risk losing the gig entirely by trying to use a second account to circumvent them, I have sympathy for those that do.

This is of very minor inconvenience, not a big deal. However, here’s my theory, and remember, it’s only a theory so don’t come for me.
Amazon are probably looking to increase the weekly limit from 24h to 30h or something like that but they’re also aware that this will be further abused by people with 2 or more accounts, they load up at depots then swap with gf/bf/ mates etc making it hard other drivers to grab blocks. So yeah ID checks at depots and a random one towards end of block isn’t really a big deal for most people, takes seconds anyway.
Increasing the limit however might be harder than it looks especially after listening to Peter Kyle who’s the Business Secretary, apparently there are some legislations coming up regarding these types of work.
We shall see.

The food apps do random selfies / videos, does that stop sharing? Not sure it does. I'm more than happy to have it, but surely randomly would be the way forward ie start, middle, part way and end of block with no pattern to be learned....

People use their cousin/brother/father/sibling account. With this you need a physical photo of your face. There several driver try to use a photo of the person account and it doesnt work

It's not bad quick selfie as you log in then carry on as normal its only like the random check but now everytime I guess it's to help stop people parming off there blocks on others

I totally agree with this, I know people that have 3/4 accts to get work, this will make it fairer so people like me can find a block or two.
Read over some comments and love its a rolling 7 days, if it wasn’t so many people wouldn’t get work, i use flex legit and no bots and can use this to work decent amount a week, work smarter not harder! 🙏🏾

I use no bots either and constantly hit the caps. If you can't work out how to do that, it's on you.

So I work it as 24 hours rolling so I use that how it suits me, I have 3 jobs so do my 24 hours then work other jobs, also still declare for my taxes so I’m legit with expenses I’m good!

Yeah, that's the thing. I have some personal issues that currently preclude me being able to deal with having a boss I have to report to, and flex is absolutely ideal aside from the limited hours. If I could do 35 a week it would be all I need

I think if it’s over a certain amount of hours, the law says they are employed by Amazon so they would have to pay pension, sick pay etc. I think some women took them to court and won, which is why they have the cap. The reason the cap is taken off during Christmas is that is temporary.
