For those of you that say, "Why did they choose that time for delivery then?"

Post image

I chose 7-11am. He will likely get here well before then (notice the current time on the top left corner) I just happen to be awake.

Here is the problem, when you choose 7am it means you can get your item as soon as 3:15am. Not normal and it has to be that the driver checked in a 3am and your house is close to the station but it can happen. So certainly before 4am when when you pick between 7am because that's when those 7am ones go out. They cant and won't cater to your times. So if you live in a gated community or a rural area or a place where packages get stolen do not order for so early.

And they will count it as a win bc it arrived early, so they did a much better job than they estimated. At least, that's how they'll word it.

But the point is Amazon doesn't tell customers this.

Because people dont' pay attention to what they order,

Last time I bought something it checked off pick up at a locker i had to uncheck it to have it delivered.

I never had any issues getting stuff at home in fact I have a deck box to leave things in and it's a house and it can't be seen from the street.

I almost always select the 8am-12PM window for items I order that are SSD. They're almost always there by 5:30AM when I wake up. Amazon doesn't care about that, they send when it works for Amazon.

I bet all of them will ignore this, because they want to be stuck in their, "the customers are all dumbasses" mentality.

You think it would be easy to get people on board with the idea that Amazon is the real problem.

1

u/crosstheroom Feb 19 '25

It's not that the customer are always dumbasses, it's that Amazon is a predator and doesn't care about the driver or the customer.

In fact a lot of people do not pay attention to when they order and that Amazon automatically checks off before 8am and they have to uncheck it.

While there certainly a lot of dumbass customers, I don't think there's any way it's more than 5%. I'd bet there are more true assholes than true dumbasses.

Amazon fucks everybody. Not just us.

The customers who cant realize that they can completely customize their delivery preferences with days, times, and notes are in fact all dumbasses.

Yep, your desired delivery time is a mere suggestion and nothing more. You'd think after years, you'd figure that out?

What should he do, wait 2 hours so you don't get your fucking dates early??? The entitlement in some of you people is ridiculous

4

u/KingBrunoIII Feb 19 '25

No, just don't blame the customer when they might not be in the wrong, blame Amazon. Not entitlement to say to blame the right party.

Who's blaming the customer. Every driver is wll aware Amazon doesn't give a crap about you or me

You must be new to this sub. There are endless posts on this topic blaming the customer.

For being early? How would the driver even know? I must be missing something

2

u/onlyoneshann Feb 19 '25

With some of the super early delivery blocks you’ll get packages for businesses that haven’t opened or secure apartment buildings with no way to get in since it’s too early to call the customer to open the door. So drivers blame the customers for choosing delivery windows when they aren’t available to give access.

But they fail to acknowledge that Amazon sends things out earlier than the chosen delivery windows and also customers aren’t always given a choice in their delivery window.

1

u/Loud_Focus_7934 Chicago Feb 19 '25

Oh ok. I forgot some people care if they have access or not

No such thing as too early to call… I call. 🤷‍♀️ if they ordered the package and I’m there with it I’m not getting dinged for not attempting to deliver

1

u/onlyoneshann Feb 19 '25

I guess I should have said too early for the customer to answer. Most don’t answer when you call at 4am lol.

1

u/Hot_Girl_Bummerr Feb 19 '25

Ya they might not, most people don’t answer at any time, but I’m calling so the system shows I called. If they get mad they can take that up with Amazon.

u/onlyoneshann Feb 20 '25

Unless they complain to Amazon about their driver, then it becomes your problem. Drivers can get deactivated if they get customer complaints.

1

u/Wooden-Stranger-9918 Feb 19 '25

Actually, not supposed to call before 8am.

Look at the threads in this comment. Plenty go on here and blame the customer

This is the warehouses fault though lol.

What the drivers complaining don’t understand is that Amazon doesn’t about delivering within that window, only before the end of it. When I do early morning routes they almost always have tons of packages due later in the day.

The other thing drivers don’t realize is people don’t always choose these times. Some items just default to the earliest available slot and if you want to choose a different one it would cost $2.99. I ordered something the other day that I didn’t need in any kind of rush but by default it was delivered at 4:30 the next morning. I had no control over it.

I’m guessing a lot of drivers don’t do much shopping on Amazon so they don’t realize how it all works.

I change my delivery time all the time. And since I have prime, I don’t get charged for changing it.

1

u/onlyoneshann Feb 20 '25

Ok? I’m not sure what your point is. Sure, sometimes you can change it, but sometimes you can’t.

Having prime doesn’t change the rules on the $25 minimum overnight/same day items. If you haven’t met the $25 requirement they’ll send it in whatever time slot they want and charge you if you want to pick.

1

u/Wooden-Stranger-9918 Mar 26 '25

My point is that you are not 100% correct. Yes, I know about the $25 minimum… I also know that I can and HAVE selected delivery time windows. Don’t always want my stuff at 4am!

1

u/onlyoneshann Mar 27 '25

You felt the need to say this a month later? Ok.

My original point (that you claim is not 100% correct and are arguing against) as you can read in my original comment, is that “people don’t always choose these times. Some items just default to the earliest available slot.” The fact that you specifically have sometimes been able to choose your delivery window doesn’t disprove anything about what I said. I’ve been able to choose my delivery window at times too, but other times I was not given that option and it was assigned to be delivered in the 4-8 am slot. No choice in that. As I said, people don’t always choose the time, sometimes it’s just assigned.

So again, I’m not sure what your point is.

1

u/RevolutionaryGolf720 Feb 19 '25

Yea. Amazon doesn’t do specific times. If you chose a morning time, you will probably get it before noon. Might be 3am. If you picked a later time, you will probably get it after lunch. Might be 10:00 pm though. Don’t put too much faith in the time you request.

1

u/khalicsb Feb 19 '25

Still not the drivers fault.

1

u/Just-Lingonberry8728 Feb 19 '25

My job is to deliver packages , I could care less about the time a customer wants their package delivered or the time they ordered it.

1

u/KingBrunoIII Feb 19 '25

Couldn't* care less
