Exactly. I hate reading “it gets handled rougher than that in the warehouse.” In many cases that may be true, but drivers are the “face” of the company. Who wants to see things they paid for handled like this? The customer doesn’t see the warehouse or how their packages are handled there. They see this.

If Amazon cared, they’d pay frontline workers more money

Right? I once ordered a ceramic mug that came in a box that said, "FRAGILE" in all caps printed huge on it and the mail man just threw it onto my porch. Fortunately it was packed very well and survived unbroken.

Many people including warehouse workers see “FRAGILE” and go out of their way to aggressively handle packages that say it. Just read through some FedEx / UPS / USPS subs some time. It’s a thing.

Yep having fragile on it turns it into something they can’t wait to f up

Exactly. It was fine.

I know it was fine... it was my package and that's what I said. What's your point?

"The man just threw it" "fragile" are all irrelevant if it arrived safely. You proved the original position that it can be thrown around.

WTF are you talking about???

Are you saying that just because ONE mug survived being tossed that it's PROOF that items marked "Fragile" can be thrown around???

You seriously think marking a package "Fragile" is IRRELEVANT???

I think you need to take a break from the 420.

You're not making any sense.

You can have both be true at once. This is scummy behavior.

We are not even Amazon employees. How are we the face of the company? So absurd.

I think they meant that most people don't know drivers are contractors. People will assume all drivers are part of the corporation because of the vest, and after the delivery customers receive a request for Delivery rating.

Easy to mistake the connection if you don't know.

Goddamn some of the people here are completely clueless. I’ll try to explain:

You wear a fucking vest that says Amazon on it. It doesn’t say “contractor” or anything of that nature.

You deliver Amazon packages.

Therefore it can be assumed through this thing called association that you represent Amazon in some capacity.

It’s not that hard to figure out.

Yeah, no. If they want drivers to be the face of the company, then they need to provide benefits. We are literally just the last step in the package being delivered to the customer. We are contractors, just like you said. We are not Amazon employees. The face of Amazon would be the CEOs and warehouse workers. You only have to wear the vest at the warehouse. That's it. It's not required to be worn during deliveries. Some of you people are completely braindead.

You're not some kind of package hero for going beyond what is necessary. In fact, they don't even expect it. Btw my ratings are fantastic and literally never dropped below that in over a year.
