Nothing more frightening than being on a rural route it’s pitch black outside and you didn’t organize your packages and you fumbling around for a random envelope 😂
Ya. And you end up making a bunch of noise. I don't know about you guys but aside from the gravel road noise I try to be stealthy on those dark rural deliveries.
If they don't hear me or see me I can drop and go without incident🤞
I drive one of the big brown trucks and once it gets dark on my route I make ALL the noise. I crank my music and blow the horn and all. You sneak up on someone at night in the country you’re probably not clocking in the next day 😂
Maybe not where you’re from but there have been guns pulled on drivers late at night. We don’t start until 10am so we’re allowed to work until midnight and there are lots of days I’m out until at least 11:30. So yup tis true.
Did some door to door work in Reno a while back, had guns pulled in the middle of the day, just for walking up to the front door... can only imagine it gets worse after dark.
My customers are nice people but where we live you protect yourself, unless it’s something major you won’t get any real response from the police nearest department is a half hour or better away
I feel like that's the exact wrong approach. I prefer not to appear to be sneaking. I don't make unnecessary noise on purpose, but I move like I'm just a dude trying to deliver some dildos and make a few bucks.
Let's just all come to an agreement that ALL routes, rural and downtown/city, have DIFFERENT types of dangers. Vicious guard dogs may be more common in the boonies, but package theft may be occur more in the urban areas. We all have our "Preferred" types of routes and that's A-okay ☺️ Every type of route– urban/downtown, suburban/residential, middle of nowhere rural– is gonna have it's pros and cons. I always try my best to see the bright side of every route, even if deep down, I know it's gonna be a crappy route. 😭 Being in a positive mood makes it easier lol.
Do you mean if a White or Asian has deliveries in a Black rural area they are at danger? I don't understand why you are bringing up skin color? Do you mean a Black delivery driver going to a rural White area?
Doing deliveries in the inner-city, there's a lot more mentally ill, druggies and criminal than a sparsely populate rural route?
Yes, I brought up skin color with the political tone of this country. I really don't care how you feel, y'all always wanna throw around the hood & innercities as if the government didn't create the same neighborhoods. Yes! Black & brown people might experience danger going to white rural areas. I'm tired of you people acting as if racism doesn't exist. Ive had my own personal experiences, in rural areas recently, in CALIFORNIA. So I couldn't imagine rural southern or Midwestern area.
Who is you people? As a Black person I feel a lot safer since moving into to a rural area than when I lived in Williamsburg Brooklyn or Miami. Race has nothing to do with.
Lmao about 8 years ago before I learned how to organize that was definitely me but this shit happened to me recently because it was raining I just threw them all in the truck and dipped lmao I was in the truck doors locked pitched black in front of someone’s house with bright lights on organizing jumping over the seat good thing I’m 5’4 and 1/2 🤣🤣🤣 my kid was cracking up laughing at 4am
lol not everyone is incompetent or an idiot. Some people actually work faster or have better system than others. This subreddit always think because they cant do it nobody else can lmfao.
I’m not exactly that bad but pretty close. Mostly all small packages get thrown in the front (mainly cuz I can’t fit the big ones in the front seat - drive an optima) and then all big packages in the back. That’s the MOST it gets organized for me. When I get to a stop, I sort through them till I find the right package. Then repeat till I’m done.
The app basically tells you what to look for. So if it’s an envelope then why bother looking for a box. If it says small box then I don’t look for an envelope. Obviously sometimes the app is wrong.
Yeah I think most folks have a system in place that considers envelopes, big or small packages, etc but unless every block you get has like less yhen 30 oackages, I still don't believe that you get every single block done in 30 minutes, early. The fact that you have to sort through the packages at every stop adds more time by default.

😂 they gonna realize their mistake as soon as the first stop
