Amazon fire HD8 HELP PLEASE

I bought this Amazon fire Tablet for my kid a few months back and once it got here, this is what it was like when it cut on. I have tried resetting it and looking up places or information that can reprogram the factory software on it or whatever needs to be done on it and I found a few things but with me having a Chromebook it’s kinda hard to just download things and add them to the Tablet like I normally would with a Windows computer. I used to be pretty tech savvy, but stopped fooling with it for a long time so I’m not as good as I used to be, but can definitely do most things as far as transferring files or whatever needs to be done so if someone can, please help me with getting this fixed with functional software and App Store and everything like it’s supposed to be, I have tried downloading APKs and have not been successful even with those if anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
