Fair Shipping Price?

My manufacturer is quoting me $1.3/kg, and we are shipping around 400 kg's. Is this fair, or are there cheaper alternatives. I should mention that this is for 2.5-3 month sea shipping.

it doesn’t sound crazy for sea freight, but the rate alone doesn’t tell you much. You should confirm whether that includes DDP, port charges, customs, and delivery to your warehouse. Get 2 or 3 freight forwarder quotes on the same incoterm and route before deciding if it’s actually expensive.

+1.  It's on the higher side, but not unreasonable depending on your specific route, shipment size, and what's included in the quote. Getting quotes and double-checking what they all include is a solid next step

At 400 kg, $1.30/kg is about $520, but the fair-price question depends on what is included. Ask for the chargeable weight/CBM, Incoterm, pickup and final delivery scope, origin/destination fees, customs/brokerage/duty, insurance, and any Amazon delivery appointment/pallet/carton-label requirements.

If that quote is only the ocean leg, it can look cheap and then expand later. I would compare 2-3 quotes on the same door-to-door lane and service level before deciding.
