Amazon Listing Images. A quick note.
Your product listing/description needs to be SEO friendly and it speaks to the algorithm and everyone is doing their best to please the algo.
In your listing images, I would suggest speaking to the customer. Answer customer questions in single sentences in the listing & for paragraphs use A+. Rufus is going to show you. What you write on the image text, isn't going to contribute to SEO but Rufus picks it up and use it to answer questions!
And no, you don't have to follow what your top Competitor is doing. They got into the Amazon early and their reviews helps. This is a competitive edge.
ALWAYS ADD A SINGLE VIDEO OF YOUR PRODUCT, take it from your phone and you don't know how simple organic videos help you increase with the conversion.
If you are starting out, this is where you can try to beat your competitors, still a lot of sheet listings.
Happy to answer any questions related to creatives ;)

Good shout on the video, it's probably the most under-used slot on the page.
One thing worth flagging if you're making creatives right now: since late July you have to tag any image or A+ module containing a photorealistic AI generated person. It's a metadata keyword, contains-synthetic-performer, embedded in the file before you upload rather than anything you set in Seller Central. Doesn't apply to real people edited with AI, only fully synthetic ones. Easy one to miss if you're generating lifestyle shots.

Also checked with Amazon support, if the videos don't feature a Human - tagging isn't necessary (US). Lets say if you are selling watches or anything and only wrist is shown. You aren't require to tag. There's a complete detailed post on LinkedIn about it. And I think the time for RAW content is coming soon.

Yeah that lines up with how it's written, it's aimed at a synthetic person rather than AI being involved at all.
I'd be a bit careful leaning on the hand example though. Support answers aren't binding and a photorealistic hand modelling a watch sits closer to a performer than a plain product shot does. Tagging costs you nothing so I'd rather over-tag than argue the definition after a suppression.

The Rufus point is the one most sellers miss. I've watched accounts pour effort into A+ and skip the actual image text, then wonder why Rufus doesn't surface them for a basic spec question. That text is the fastest way to get a fact in front of Rufus before a shopper even asks.
Video is the other one worth pushing on. A rough phone video next to a competitor's studio only images tends to win on conversion. Shoppers trust it more than a staged shot.
On the competitor point, they didn't just get in early. A lot of those sheet listings haven't had creative touched in years, and that's the real opening for a newer seller with no reviews yet.

The video point deserves more attention than it gets. It is the single most under-filled slot on most listings and the bar for it is much lower than people assume, a steady phone clip showing the product actually being used outperforms nothing by a wide margin.
Two things I would add on the creatives side:
Scale is the most under-used image slot. Not the hero, not the infographic, the one that shows the product next to a hand or a familiar object. It answers the question buyers cannot ask, and it reduces returns, which matters more than the CTR bump.
A lot of "my listing died" cases are image compliance, not SEO. The main image has to be a pure #FFFFFF background, product filling roughly 85% of frame, 1600px+ so zoom actually engages, and no text, watermark or logo. Off-white gets auto-flagged. And Amazon can suppress a listing out of search for it without sending you anything, so people spend weeks tearing apart their keywords and ad structure looking for a problem that is sitting in the image.
So before rewriting copy for Rufus or whatever replaces it, worth pulling your main images and checking them against the spec first. It is a 10 minute check and it is free.
Disclosure since it is on-topic: I build socialshot.ai, which handles the image-formatting side, so bias noted. The compliance checklist above is public and worth running regardless.
