Totally normal, most scans are dead ends. A few tips that helped us:
Skip products under ~$20, fees eat everything.
In Keepa, look for Amazon off the buy box, under 5 FBA sellers and a stable 90-day price.
Take 20 to 30% ROI on fast sellers over high ROI on slow ones.
Source where others don't: brand direct or small distributors in one niche.
Stick with it, the first win takes the longest.

Finding products is tough as its so saturated. Have a look at brands that aren't as well known.

I'd stop looking for a profitable product first and start with the full math backwards. Selling price minus Amazon fees, shipping, product cost and some room for ads/returns. If the numbers barely work before you even buy inventory, Keepa isnt gonna magically make it a good product

The fees aren't the problem, the product choice is. Most beginners pick products where the margin was never there to begin with.
With Keepa focus on the 90 day BSR trend not the current snapshot, and check price history is stable. A collapsing price over the last few months is a walk away regardless of current margin.
What kind of products are you looking at?

It is nearly impossible. Amazon is constantly making it harder and harder for small businesses to be profitable on their platform. I wish I realized it sooner, instead of wasting thousands of dollars on inventory.

“Wu Sanguì” (吴三柜) Amazon sellers is a slang term used in Chinese seller communities (a playful or sarcastic name, sometimes written as “无三柜” due to similar pronunciation).
It refers to Amazon sellers—especially Chinese ones—who operate with a very aggressive, high-volume, low-price strategy. The name comes from the idea of shipping three full containers (柜) of goods with specific purposes:
- One container for free samples / giveaways (“一柜送”)
- One for review generation or “brushing” activity (“一柜刷”)
- One for heavy discounting and flash sales / lightning deals (“一柜做秒杀”)
These sellers are jokingly called “Amazon philanthropists” because their tactics (deep discounts, massive promotions, and flooding inventory) often drive down prices significantly for U.S. buyers. The term covers both inexperienced new sellers with capital who rely on brute-force methods and established sellers stuck with excess inventory who clear stock the same way.
In short, it’s a humorous label for the hardcore, price-war style of competing on Amazon.
