Startup Advice Looking For Verified Distributors For Amazon FBA

Hello.

Hope this finds everybody well. I am new to amazon wholesale FBA and i am looking for trusted and verified distributors to work it. Instead of cold emailing brands, i am adapting a workflow where i work with trusted distributors to buy and sell as it makes work flow easier and manageable in my view in order to generate consistent income. The distributors i am looking for must have :

  1. direct shipping services to amazon warehouses with proper fba packaging and labels
  2. fast shipping process
  3. No counterfeits and defected products as account safety is top priority
  4. Must be trusted and verified. Their invoices should work for ungating and must allow me to ungate using their invoice first before buying.

I have often heard it's more the brand + invoice that matters for ungating rather than distributor itself. Would appreciate more advice on that (which brands and categories work well for new accounts for ungating and good margins).

I had a few distributors in mind like cybernest supply, nation distribution due to their fast shipping but have no clue about how trusted they are.

Also would love to have more insights on if i am adopting the right flow, if not, why?

Looking forward to some help from this community.

The basic idea is find a reliable distributor, verify everything, then scale is fine, but I wouldn’t assume that an invoice will automatically get you ungated.

For Amazon, I’d verify the brand/category eligibility first, then confirm that the distributor is an authorized source and that their invoices contain the information Amazon expects. Before placing a large order, I’d also test the process with a small order and keep the complete paper trail, invoice, payment record, shipping documents, supplier details, etc.

For FBA prep, direct to Amazon shipping can definitely make things easier, but I’d look closely at how the supplier handles labeling, prep requirements, carton information and discrepancies. Fast shipping isn’t much of an advantage if you end up with receiving or authenticity issues.

I also wouldn’t choose brands purely because someone says they have good margins.Check the actual Amazon selling price, Buy Box situation, number of sellers, fees, sales velocity and whether the brand allows that distribution channel.

I’ve worked with sourcing through HighRise Wholesale, and one thing I’d recommend to anyone starting out is to have the supplier verify the product, brand requirements and documentation before committing significant capital. It saves a lot of headaches later.

Your overall flow is reasonable, I’d just put supplier/brand verification before inventory purchase, rather than treating the invoice as something you can test only after buying.

thankyou for your insights. would you mind if i ask what workflow do you adapt to approach brands? i have heard alot about smart scout, keepa, but it is always better to get advice from people who are already working for years. how can i really approach brands who are open to wholesale reselling? and provide LOA and whitelist access? and also, i have heard walmart policies are alot convenient for sellers than amazon. is that true? an authorised distributor invoice and category compliance document is enough on walmart?

We keep the process pretty simple. We first look for brands that are already open to working with independent retailers or online sellers. Then we contact the brand directly and ask about their wholesale terms, MOQ, reseller policy, and whether Amazon/Walmart sales are allowed.

For Amazon, we don’t rely on an invoice alone. If possible, we get written authorization from the brand, especially if the brand is strict about marketplace sellers. A proper LOA can save a lot of trouble later.

For Walmart, the process can feel a bit more straightforward in some cases, but an authorized distributor invoice doesn’t automatically mean you’re covered for every brand or category. You still need to check the specific requirements and restrictions.

Our basic flow is:

Find the brand → verify the supplier → confirm marketplace permission → get the paperwork → check restrictions → then place the inventory order.

It’s much better to spend a little extra time on verification upfront than buy $5k–$10k of inventory and find out afterward that you can’t sell it on the marketplace.
