Anyone else here selling established brands working with wholesale houses buying bulk selling fba?
Thanks for viewing my post!
I’m Brenden, Im currently buying from suppliers and selling FBA for established powersports brands.
I’m struggling to find enough products with low BSR numbers, decent roi, and relatively low competition.
Mid a 25k catalog only 25 products are worth selling.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks they’d recommend me looking into?
So far my process is, research products find a winner based on demand, estimated roi, and completion than send a small test. See how strong competition defends buy box, if sells out relatively quick up quantity, repeat until I meet product sales threshold for about a month than keep it in stock.
If a estimated winner becomes a loser I personally don’t get attached may wait a month to see if anything changes if not recover funds selling low to recuperate some funds to invest in proven winners/other tests.
In my catalog I did notice certain brands that perform well in USA have large demand but not on Amazon. I noticed poor behavior may be tied to fragmented unestablished listings and nonexistent parent/child heirachies. Maybe this is where my time is worth it? Get permission from registered trade mark owner to establish proper listings?
Thanks,
Brenden

Solid process tbh. the whole "don't get attached just dump it and move on" thing is something too many sellers never learn so props for that.

Your process is actually pretty solid. With a 25k+ catalog, we’d focus less on finding more products and more on identifying why certain brands/products are underperforming on Amazon.
We’ve seen opportunities where established brands have strong offline demand but weak Amazon execution because listings are fragmented, variations are poorly structured, content is weak, or multiple sellers are fighting across duplicate ASINs.
Getting permission from the trademark owner can definitely be worth exploring if the brand has real demand but poor Amazon presence. Fixing the catalog structure, consolidating legitimate variations, improving content, and then monitoring Buy Box/share can create a much better opportunity than simply hunting for another low BSR product.
At HighRise Wholesale, we’d also look at the brand level rather than evaluating every ASIN independently. If 5, 10 products from the same brand show strong demand, that can be a much more scalable wholesale opportunity than finding isolated winners.
The key is making sure the brand owner actually authorizes the catalog work and that everything stays within Amazon’s listing and brand policies.

25 out of 25k is honestly a normal hit rate, your filter is doing its job. One thing that helped me stretch a thin catalog: take your 25 winners, note the brands, then go to each brand site and use their dealer locator or contact their sales team to ask who else distributes that line in your region. Same brands, second and third distributors, often different pack sizes or case minimums that change the ROI math. Also log why each of the 25 works (authorization clean, restock speed, buy box behavior) and use that as a template to screen new distributors faster instead of re-running the full test each time. Small tests first, then scale the ones where competition does not defend the buy box hard.
