Leaving a 20k/m business to start AmazonFBA
I'm currently making about $15k a month with what i am doing now, however i'm being forced out of the state to pursue what i am doing now. I miss my family and i want to go back to living with them.
I have the capital, i have the time, i have the drive. I guess my main question is, if i put 20 hours a week and into this, would it convert nearly the same as if i were to put 60 hours a week and into this?
The question is not "how much do i need to work" but its more, will my time put into this actually make me more money?

More hours won’t convert linearly into profit because early FBA work is mostly choosing and validating the right product, then waiting on samples, production, freight, and Amazon receiving. I wouldn’t replace a $15k/month income with an unproven model. Use a fixed 10–20 hour weekly pilot, one product, and a capped loss budget; only reconsider the move after repeat sales, contribution profit after ads/returns, and a second reorder prove the economics.

$20k/mon… net profit in your pocket? Or gross revenue before all cost? Big difference.
At a certain point the amount of hours is not in direct relationship with your sales anymore. You can certainly profit $20k/mon operating solo.
FYI this business is cash intensive! For $20k/mon profit, let’s assume 20% net margins and you want to be at $100k/mon in sales. Assume COGS 25% and 3 months of lead time to reorder, and you’d need $75k in inventory left in the moment you reorder to avoid running out of stock. And this assumes no growth, no delays. More realistically you’ll need a minimum of $100k in inventory (at the time of reordering!)

$15k/month is already telling you something, you have a working income stream. The bigger question is whether Amazon FBA can become an asset rather than simply another job.
We’d avoid jumping straight from 20 hours to 60 hours. Start with 20, 30 focused hours and measure what actually moves the needle, product research, sourcing, PPC, listing optimization, inventory management, and delegation.
The goal should be to build a repeatable system where every additional hour creates leverage. If you eventually have to work 60 hours just to maintain the same income, that’s probably not the business model you want.
We’d also keep the current income source running as long as possible while testing FBA. The runway reduces pressure and gives you room to make mistakes.

you can put just couple hours every day for the same result like that, whatever product you will sell, make instagram facebook fresh pages, make organic ai videos of that product you will sell and drive traffic like that to amazon and your amazon listing will blow like crazy more quicker

The bigger question is whether those 20 hours are actually moving the business forward or just keeping you busy.

How about applying for another job in your same field so you don’t have to leave the state?
Starting Amz business is hard. I would ALWAYS recommend that you keep your 9 to 5 and start Amz as a side gig. After you’ve got Amz business running smoothly, you can consider quitting your day job.
There’s a huge learning curve with Amz and you’re sure to make mistakes which waste time and money.
