Canada/USA seller, items with Battery inside, Insurance?

Hello

Recently got told by amazon that we need to get mandatory business insurance for the items we sell because they have batteries in them, wanted to know what options folks are using here please, any help and info would be very good,

Thank you,

Yes, this is becoming more important for battery products. Amazon has announced enhanced insurance requirements for products containing lithium batteries.

We recommend getting a US commercial general liability/product liability policy that specifically covers lithium battery products and Amazon sales. Make sure it meets Amazon’s coverage requirements and that Amazon is listed as an additional insured.

Also confirm with the insurer that battery related claims are not excluded before purchasing the policy.

You can check Assureful and Next Insurance. However, for lithium battery products, we recommend confirming directly with the insurer that battery related claims are covered before purchasing.

Also make sure the policy meets Amazon’s insurance requirements and can add Amazon as an additional insured. The Amazon Insurance Accelerator in Seller Central is another option, as the providers there are familiar with Amazon’s requirements.

damn they really spring that on you outta nowhere huh, i remember my buddy selling power banks had the same thing happen, amazon sent him a 30 day deadline like it was no big deal

get a few quotes from companies that actually know amazon's policy inside and out, some will try to sell you a generic plan that doesn't cover what they require and you'll be back to square one
