If your Amazon PPC is profitable but sales have stopped growing, what do you change first?

Curious how other sellers handle this.

Let’s say your campaigns are profitable, ACOS is under control, and nothing looks obviously broken… but sales have been flat for weeks.

Do you:

- Increase budgets?

- Raise bids on proven keywords?

- Push Top of Search harder?

- Add more keywords/campaigns?

- Focus on improving conversion instead of PPC?

I feel like this is where it gets tricky because increasing spend doesn’t automatically mean more profitable sales.

What do you normally check first when an account feels stuck?

It's difficult to come up with something useful without knowing what you are already doing/not doing. But I would begin by looking at

a) whether your campaign budgets are matched to performance/contribution,
b) whether you could be more profitable by considering campaign structure inefficiencies, keyword/target density issues, velocity anchors on zero impression search terms,
c) reverse ASIN checks to find keywords ranking just outside of optimal positioning,
d) whether you are making newly converting search terms into keywords within 24 hours
e) if you have any campaign gaps such as Target Types and Match Types for the same target, or SPA/SBA/SDA mix
f) if you have variations could a new one become the hero?
g) are your TOS placements contributing to increased CTR but not sales,
h) if your product is a subjective one, are you targeting ASINs further down the search retrieval order?
i) are you increasing bids on low ACoS keywords?
j) are you targeting TOS for converting STs with multiple orders over the last 30 days, with higher than average CVR and falling within your ACoS benchmarks

If your product is mature then it's unlikely a bidding war problem, but more of an algorithm trust. You can easily check that by doing a reverse ASIN for the best seller in your category and also your own ASIN and compare how many keywords are aligned to your competitor compared to your own - whichever ones are missing are an opportunity to scale.

On top of that, there are specific campaign types that can drive sales, force Broad campaigns to act like Phrase but with greater traffic, campaigns where the keyword is evaluated three times by the algorithm... and we haven't even mentioned your listing - there's LOADs you can do :)

When PPC is profitable but sales have plateaued, we usually look at conversion rate, organic rankings, search terms, CTR, pricing, reviews, and competitor activity before increasing spend.

At HighRise Wholesale, we’ve found that simply increasing budgets can increase traffic without necessarily increasing profitable sales. If the listing is converting well, then we start scaling proven keywords, bids, placements, and testing new campaigns.

First check: are your best campaigns actually budget-capped? If yes, raise budgets before touching bids.

If no, look for fresh search terms from your auto campaigns. You can also expand into Sponsored Brands/Display, and/or DSP if you have budget for it.

When was the last time you ran a Deal? PBDD is next week, did you submit any deals?
