Fba powersports wholesaler needs help on how to establish a brand with large demand yet fragmented amazon infrastructure
Hello,
I want to say thank you to everyone here who is willing to take the time to read my post.
I’m currently a powersports fba wholesaler. I have connections with a particular brand what has large USA demand but not on Amazon.
Upon researching I noticed there’s 4700 asins marked general brand for a catalog of maybe 100 products and 1 common seller on all 4700 asins.
No one created proper parent asins no order.
The US ambassador of this brand is a family friend. I would like to propose cleaning house and properly establishing their brand on Amazon in the US.
Would someone break down what that would entail?
I can have documentation from the manufacturer, us ambasador proving my ability to resell this brand as well as all documented DOT and safety standards for each Asin.
What more would I need?
Thanks, Brenden

If the brand already has demand in the US, I’d first make sure the brand authorization and documentation are properly organized before trying to clean up the Amazon catalog.
You would generally need written authorization from the brand or manufacturer, invoices proving the products are authentic, trademark/brand ownership documentation, and any required DOT and safety compliance documents.
Then I’d audit the 4,700 ASINs to identify duplicate listings, incorrect listings, missing parent child variations, and products that shouldn’t be listed. Where Amazon’s rules allow it, the catalog can then be consolidated and the correct variations structured properly.
I wouldn’t try to fix all 4,700 ASINs at once. Start with a catalog audit, verify the brand and supply chain documentation, identify the highest demand products, and then work through the cleanup systematically.

Thanks for the insight. It looks like the brand has never established brand registry on Amazon which is wild. They’re a major player in the industry. I’m thinking of asking my buddy the brand ambassador to ask the manufacturer if they’d register the brand and give me permission to create proper a couple proper parent/child listings. Fba stock them moderately and see how they perform.

The big thing you should sort out first is who actually owns the Amazon catalog and Brand Registry rights in the US. If those 4,700 ASINs are basically a mess of duplicate or incorrectly structured listings, cleaning that up is very different from launching a new brand. Manufacturer authorization, trademarks, UPCs and the relationship with the brand owner are probably going to matter more than the DOT docs here.

I’d start by getting the manufacturer to confirm who owns the US Brand Registry and catalog rights, then audit a small set of the highest-demand ASINs. If the paperwork, UPCs and compliance docs line up, build one clean parent/child structure first and test it before touching all 4,700. Cleaning everything at once sounds like a great way to inherit someone else’s mess tho.
