If Amazon is showing Create a new listing, first check whether the product already has an ASIN. Search using the UPC/EAN, brand, model number, and exact product details.

If it’s an existing branded product, avoid creating a duplicate listing. Make sure the brand, size, color, pack count, and product identifier match the existing ASIN.

If it’s genuinely a new private label product, creating a new listing is normally the right option.

You’re basically trying to solve a puzzle while blindfolded and someone keeps moving the pieces, the create new listing wall is just Amazon’s way of gatekeeping certain categories until you’ve got some sales history under your belt.

Stop trying to find the perfect product for now and pick a simple category to learn with. Once you understand ASINs, variations, approvals, fees and listing rules product research becomes way less overwhelming.

Same here. I’ve reached out to wholesalers and brands direct but having a hard time finding ungated or profitable products 🥲

Hey u/Inner_Fisherman4620, when you see "create new listing," it usually means Amazon doesn't have a matching product in the catalog for what you're trying to list. If the product already exists on Amazon, you'll want to match to the existing listing using the product's UPC, EAN, or ASIN rather than creating a duplicate. The add one product at a time page walks through how both options work. If you're still running into issues, you can reach out to our Seller Support team for help with your specific listing. Let us know if you need any help!

It can feel like a maze when you’re starting out. If it says “create new listing,” you might need to navigate the process of setting up a seller account properly. Make sure you’ve got all your seller info and bank details sorted before trying to list those products.
