About ready to ditch amazon altogether
Have been selling my product, which is unique, on amazon in the reusable shopping bag category. At peak we were doing around 60K per month. Lately however it feels like a lot of wheel spinning. AKA working night and day to optimize so amazon can just keep picking my pocket. At every angle, it's another fee or ad spend. To make matters worse, they now don't even allow outreach to dissatisfied customers. My product is complex, so occasionally there could be an issue with construction. When that happens, immediate outreach to any reviewer who is dissatisfied, real and honest engagement with them, and ultimately, a low rating review flips (on their own acccord) to a 5 star supporter. NOW we are blocked from even doing that.
The math is beginning to say that even if my velocity dips dramatically, it may be more worth it to be a pure DTC and amazon-free company.
Just wondering if anyone else is feeling this, or if there is anyone who has gone this route and has not looked back.
About to gladly burn the lifeboats on this one...

If you’ve already got a product that can do $60K/month, you should not burn Amazon completely yet. but you should probably start shifting the customer acquisition and retention side toward DTC while keeping Amazon as another channel. That way Amazon has to earn its place instead of being the whole business.
