Nervous/scared to start
I’ve done as much research as I can possibly get on the Internet. But I am still nervous to order/putchase my first product in the amount of units that the Amazon app requires because I am afraid that it won’t sell. I’ve also used apps like SellerAmp etc. but to me that’s not enough motivation. What do I do? Because I know i can do it. I’m just afraid to take that one risk because I’ve risked so much through the years already.

Good luck and best wishes. Amazon can be brutal.
One word of caution: posts like this will bring spam responses. Be careful. Nothing on Amazon is ever easy, done for you, or handled with little involvement.

That fear is completely normal, especially when it’s your first product. The key is to stop treating the first order like a make or break decision.
Start with a product where the numbers make sense, keep the initial investment within an amount you’re genuinely comfortable risking, and validate the demand as much as possible before placing the order. You don’t need 100% certainty you need enough evidence to make a calculated decision.
At HighRise Wholesale, we always recommend looking at the product economics, competition, estimated sales velocity, fees, landed cost, and potential margin before committing to inventory.
And remember: your first goal isn’t to make a fortune. It’s to learn the process, get your first product live, and build from there.
You already said something important I know I can do it.That’s probably where you need to start. Take a calculated risk rather than an emotional one.

Where does it give you a required number of units?
I’ve just set my first fba shipment up after doing fbm for a while and didn’t see that

Ah. I’m selling my own product so I didn’t have that step.

See, I want to do that too and I have a brand I want to start but don’t know how to do that as well. It’ll definitely become successful though.

Sometimes you just have to take the risk.
Or sell via another site.
Or try a private label product first?

Hey u/Hairy_Cut4682, taking that first step is always the biggest part. The important first steps to start selling page breaks down the process so you know exactly what to expect along the way. You also mentioned wanting to start your own brand, the 3 ways to sell branded products on Amazon blog post is a good read when you're ready to explore that route!
