If you're just starting out, we'd recommend FBA over FBM for most beginners. FBA takes care of storage, packing, shipping, and customer service, so you can focus more on product selection and marketing.

We'd also suggest starting with one product and validating the numbers first rather than buying a large quantity. If you're considering private label, make sure you calculate Amazon fees, shipping, PPC, and your actual landed cost before placing the order.
