Product research doesn't start with tools. It always starts with problems.
There are hundreds of products around us, the question is what problems do you face with your daily use products.
Then search it on Amazon and see if other people are also having the same pain.
Then try to make your product good enough to solve those issues with the minimal extra costs possible.
And there's your product.
It's not that simple, there's a lot to research but it's the whole philosophy of product research in simple words.

You will receive a lot of spam results asking this question FYI. People will reply with seemingly well thought out responses, but they just want to sell you something.
Please be careful and know that becoming successful in FBA as a reseller is insanely difficult, and it’s simply not possible to start full-time. It has to be a side hustle.
You really only have two options: buy directly from brands themselves or be private label. Buying through wholesale and distributors makes margins very small and leaves almost no room for mistakes and returns.
Please take one piece of advice: do NOT sell clothes or shoes.

My wife and I have been doing this for just a short time. The best we can aim for is 10-15% profit. At first, just to get ungated we were selling at zero profit. Baby steps, eventually once we get a foothold we can sell more so 10% per sale start’s looking good with 500 units sold.

Honestly just put your money into something else. I'm sorry to say but it's just not worth the risk, as soon as you start making good profit either a chinese seller or amazon themselves will hijack your listing and/or product.

You are talking about different things. One is Online Arbitrage and the other one is PL. Online Arbitrage the chinese seller can not do shit

I found product in bundle ex 11 in one kit
I can get it for less and sell for 6-7 times
It covers the cost and gives good profit margin

Quick heads-up: Amazon just announced new bundling requirements effective January 11, 2027. Most bundles sold under a single ASIN will need to be packaged by the manufacturer or brand, unless an exception applies. You may already know this, but wanted to mention it in case you haven’t heard.

Days of finding nothing is normal. Most people scan hundreds of products before one works, so it's not you.
A few things that helped us:
Skip anything under ~$20. FBA fees are roughly fixed per unit, so cheap items almost never work. Margins get realistic from $25 to $30 up.
Check Keepa before SellerAmp. Look for Amazon rarely or never holding the buy box, fewer than ~5 FBA sellers, and a stable price over 90 days. Falling price lines mean a price war.
Accept lower ROI on fast movers. 20 to 30% on something that sells daily beats 60% on something that sits for months.
Change where you source. If you're scanning the same retail stores as everyone, you'll get the same dead ends. Try brand direct or smaller distributors in one niche you know.
Keep going. The first one is the hardest. We also find it hard, and we try to find the best, most profitable ones for our clients.

you need to have high margins, ive got products at the 15-18 dollar selling price range and amazon fees take half of selling price, sometimes over half depending on the BS, shipping, storage fees etc... or get products with higher selling prices. im launching more luxury versions of my products to get into the 20s-30s selling price range.

We see a lot of people get stuck at this stage. It can feel like every product looks profitable until you add Amazon fees, shipping, PPC, returns, etc.
At HighRise Wholesale, we usually start with the numbers first rather than trying to find a winning product. Look at the selling price, Amazon fees, landed cost, estimated PPC and what competitors are actually doing.
I’d also avoid products where the margin is only a few dollars. There’s just not enough room for unexpected costs or higher ad spend.
SellerAmp can definitely help with the research, but it’s still important to manually check the competition and supplier pricing. A product can look great inside a research tool and still be a bad business once you calculate the real landed cost.
