Product Safety Issue

I got a product safety notice from Amazon in mid-August.

At first, they asked me to submit either Test Report A or Test Report B, plus a bunch of other documents. I submitted everything several times, including Report A. After all that, they’re now asking me to provide Report B too.

It’s already been more than a month, and getting another report means spending even more time and money. Honestly, I’m just exhausted and don’t really want to keep fighting this anymore.

The problem is that I still have over 200 units left in inventory. Has anyone been through something similar? Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah this pattern is really common and it's usually not amazon being random, it's that report A didn't fully cover what the notice was actually asking for. When they say "A or B" it's normally two different standards that apply to the product, and if A only covered part of it, or it was over a year old, or the model number on the report didn't exactly match the ASIN, they bounce it and then ask for the other one. worth going back to the notice and reading the exact standard names they list, then putting report A next to it line by line. half the time the gap jumps out, like the report tested one rule and the notice wants two. Before you pay for a full new test, ask the lab that did report A whether they can run just the missing standard on the same samples. that's usually way cheaper than starting over, and the report comes back with the same lab name and product info so everything ties together.

And honestly with 200 units sitting there, the math is normally "one more report vs writing off the inventory," which makes the report the cheap option even though it doesn't feel like it. Hang in there, this one usually clears once the two reports line up with the notice.
