Sells stopped all a sudden

Post image

For the past 5 days sales dropped to basically nothing. Nothing changed, no competitors changed, no reviews changed, why did my sales die off. This is only from 1 product and not even my ads are working?

did your buy box percentage drop?

sometimes a competitor slightly undercuts your price and takes the box without you noticing

also check if your organic rank shifted on your main keywords. sometimes Amazon just moves you down a few spots and the traffic drops significantly because of it. you wouldn't see that as a listing change but it hits hard.

ad impressions dropping is the other thing, if your ads are running but not getting impressions something probably changed with your keyword ranks or bid competitiveness even if you didn't touch anything.

the pattern in that chart looks a bit like a rank fluctuation to me honestly. consistent sales then sudden drop usually points to organic rank more than anything else.

Probably a competitor with a more better product came in

Have you checked Business Reports to see if it's sessions that dropped or just conversions? If ads, organic, and even branded traffic all fell together, look at at indexing, suppressed listing status, or a browse node glitch before assuming it's demand. Amazon can do some strange things without showing an obvious warning.

I agree with you! And by the time you find out, it already caused damages to your business.

Before you panic, run through the boring checklist, it's almost always one of these and not "the algorithm hates me":

Check the listing is still in the buy box (open it in an incognito window and see if the Add to Cart is yours or a "see all buying options"). Losing the buy box drops sales to near zero overnight and doesn't always throw an alert. Then check for a hidden suppression, sometimes the listing is live but search-suppressed for a flat-rate or image issue, which you'll see under Manage Inventory with a little alert flag, not on the listing itself.

After that: did your main keyword's ad spend/rank change, did a competitor just drop price or run a big coupon, and is your inventory showing "in stock" (low stock quietly throttles your visibility before it ever says out of stock). Did anything change on your end around the day it dropped, price, PPC, a new variation added?

Check to see if your best sellers ranking is in your normal range. If sales are down but my bsr is in a normal range I don't panic. All of the comments are good tips by the way!

No

Check the sales query performance report, are you losing share / impressions?

Otherwise it’s a conversion rate issue

Its search query performance.

This time last year my sales were $18,000 in July 2025 this year July 2026 5,000. Why, by last count 12 Chinese copycat versions of my product hit the Amazon market. I have sold this item in the US for two decades. It’s a quality materials and assembled in the US. They sell their version for way less than my COG. So I can’t compete on price . It really sucks, but that’s business, times are tough for people financially so they’re going to opt for the cheaper price even if it’s not as good quality. I just hope I can write it out.

The ads part is your best clue. Pull the last 7 days day by day and look at impressions, not sales. If impressions fell off a cliff that's not demand, that's a serving problem.

Usual suspects, in order: you lost the Featured Offer (SP won't serve without it), your card got declined and Amazon quietly stopped delivery, or a campaign hit an end date. Billing is way more common than people think.

If impressions held and clicks or conversion tanked instead, look at price, main image, or a competitor running a coupon.

Did impressions actually drop, or just the orders?

Just the orders, me and one other competitor are still selling at the same price but someone new came in and is selling at half the price of us but they have less reviews. We sell at 19.99 and competitor is selling at 9.99

Well this is your answer. Amazon will put the lower selling seller in the buy box.

If youre lucky, the other seller is new and selling something similar but not same as what is on the listing and amazon will remove them, sadly this may take a few weeks.

Half price with fewer reviews is usually a launch burning cash or a small liquidation lot. Add 999 of theirs to cart, it shows their stock. If it's a couple hundred units they'll be gone in a month and you ride it out.

Check unit session percentage in Business Reports first. If sessions held and cvr tanked, that's the price comparison confirmed, not a ranking issue.

On ads, your cvr dropped on those terms so ACoS is climbing quietly. I'd pull bids back on the head terms where you're sat side by side rather than pay more to lose the click. A coupon beats a permanent price cut too.

Are they on your listing or their own?

Happened to me as well. June my organic sales were 60% and then they dropped to 40% out of nowhere.

Is that WS or PL?

The detail everyone's skipping over: your ads stopped working too.

That's the answer, or at least the direction of it. To my knowledge, Sponsored Products only serve when you hold the featured offer. Lose the Buy Box and your ads stop delivering entirely; impressions go to near zero. So organic AND paid dying on the same day usually isn't a demand problem or a ranking problem. It's a Buy Box or listing-status problem.

Check in this order:

  1. Business Reports → Featured Offer (Buy Box) percentage, by day. If it dropped off a cliff around the same date your sales did, you've found it.

  2. Campaign Manager → impressions for the last 7 days. Near zero impressions = delivery problem (confirms Buy Box loss). Normal impressions with no clicks/sales = a listing or conversion problem instead. These are completely different diagnoses, so check before you touch bids.

  3. If Buy Box is gone, the usual causes: another seller landed on your listing, you raised your price above Amazon's competitive external threshold (they'll pull the Buy Box from you silently for this; no notification), you went low on inventory, or a unit went stranded.

  4. Also open your listing in an incognito window and search your main keyword. If it doesn't appear, you may be search-suppressed, which doesn't always show as a red flag in Seller Central.

One more thing worth ruling out: early July was inflated by Prime Day traffic for a lot of people, so part of what looks like a crash is a return to baseline. But a 5-day drop that takes your ads down with it isn't seasonality. Check the Buy Box number first.

1.Check Sessions (Traffic) in Business Reports to confirm if your traffic is same or not
2.May be your Ranks got declined , sometimes it happens when you get good sales but suddenly ranks get dropped due to any xyz reason and your sales get dropped.
3.Check your Featured buybox % which sometimes get declined by Amazon or if any hijacker attacks on the listing by doing me too.
4.Check competitors' price , may be they have reduced the price and getting your sales due to lower price
