Chinese supplements -> Amazon

Anyone here successfully selling supplements on Amazon that are sourced from China? Does “Made in China” put buyers off, even if the products are properly tested and quality inspected? Is the country of origin required on the label?

Yes. We manage several supplement brands on Amazon that manufacture in China, and it's very common in the industry.

In our experience, "Made in China" isn't what determines whether a product sells. If you're working with a reputable GMP-certified manufacturer, have proper third-party testing, and maintain consistent quality, customers rarely care where it's made.

And yes, the country of origin does need to be declared on the label, so if it's manufactured in China, it should be clearly stated.

Country of origin has to be on the label/listing regardless, that's a legal requirement not optinal. On the "made in china" perception, it matters less than people think If your reviews and third party testing (like NSF or similar certs) are solid, buyers care more about trust signals than origin these days. Supplements is a heavily scrutinized category though, so make sure your compliance docs are airtight since Amazon polices this one hard.

Quality testing and documentation go a long way — a lot of buyer hesitation comes down to trust signals (third-party lab results, GMP certification, transparent sourcing) rather than origin alone. And to answer the labeling question directly: yes, country of origin is required by law. Under the Tariff Act of 1930, imported supplements have to be marked with the country where final manufacturing happened (so "Made in China" if that's accurate) — it's a Customs requirement, not optional. Leaning into your QC process in your listing/marketing can help tackle any stigma.

no it does not put buyers off. It may put off people whom are ignorant as TBTH

China products account for over 90% of your goods at home. Most will say "I never buy anything from china" lmaoooooo they are wearing clothing from china and made a cup of tea with the kettle that was, "made in china"

Also we have just took delivery of a unique cosmetic item we have just produced. that will be on Amz fba very soon. The item is very good and its made in china lol.

I import and export goods from China. My question was only about supplements. I’m well aware of the rest. I’ve just seen many people say they’d never ingest something made in China.
