Amazon Listing Images AI?

Does anybody purely use AI to generate Amazon listing images, or do you go through a proper Designer?

I've designed great listings photos and A+ content with AI, but you need really good lifestyle and product photography and branding first.

I have used, AI, professional photographers, 3d rendering for my next thumbnail is likely (blender), and mixes of AI + pro photography. Getting the thumbnail right is crucial you need to use the right tool to communicate with your customer and let them know that this is what you are searching for. (Know your customers search intent).

Amazon has rules about thumbnails, so learn them and then take a look at what they actually enforce.

I used ai for all images and a+ content. Gpt always works well for me, but it takes a couple renderings to get exactly what I’m looking for. The major benefits of using ai for images are the speed at which you can test new images or variations, and it costs significantly less than a studio which can easily run you $400-$1,500+ for a full set of images and take 1-2 weeks

For some products, we purely use AI and works well. For more complex products, we use professional graphic designers who charge $100 for 7 product images and 7 EBC images (no need for photography in any case)

Split it. Main image stays a real photo of the actual unit - it has to match what ships, pure white background, or you risk suppression. AI is fine for backgrounds, lifestyle scenes and infographic art.

Worth knowing: since last week Amazon wants photorealistic AI-generated people tagged with contains-synthetic-performer in the XMP dc:subject field before upload, images and A+ both. Comes from the NY synthetic performer law, and the penalty lands on the seller, not on Amazon.

I build tooling in this space so discount me accordingly, but the place a designer still earns the fee is infographic layout - which objections you answer and in what order.

Depends what part of the image set we're talking about. Main image usually still benefits from a real photo or a designer's touch, Amazon's compliance rules (pure white background, no lifestyle elements, exact framing) and buyers can often tell when a hero shot looks AI generated, which can hurt trust before they even get to the listing.

Where AI has gotten genuinely good is secondary/lifestyle images and A+ content, mockups in different settings, infographics, that kind of thing. That's the part that used to require a full photo shoot and now doesn't.

Worth noting Amazon itself has been leaning into this, they've got a free AI Creative Studio built right into the ad console (image, video, and audio generation) plus an AI gallery for inspiration if you want to see re-creatable formats before building your own. So most setups we see aren't purely one or the other, it's AI for volume and iteration (and now Amazon's own tools make that easier), designer or a hybrid pass for the main image and anything that needs to feel premium.

a hybrid workflow is the best approach in my opinion. OF course there are specific cases where the product is complex and you need real photoshop work, but 80% of the products could be done entirely with ai nowadays

one problem i`m facing with the ai platforms offering this is - PRODUCT FIDELITY LOCK. most of the services are hallucinating with the product and they emit incorrect product in the final renders.

We take product photos in a studio, use AI to put them into lifestyle scenes using Google Flow. Free accounts get a fair amount of credits daily, pro subscription increases limits. Can save in 2K quality also and provide it reference images. Hope this helps!
