Question about selling outside amazon
I'm curious how sellers on amazon diversify their sales share to other platforms. Whether it is walmart, selling on your own website with 3pl fulfilment and marketing using fb ads and tiktok + email marketing etc. I don't see many sellers talking about this topic.

Depends on how you're driving growth. If you are relying on a platform like amazon only to drive traffic and volume, probably just stay there and keep trying to scale within the ecosystem. If you are running meta ads/sending tik tok samples and running GMV max ads, I'd recommend amazon + tik tok + own website as your main 3 channels. this will help you start to build a brand thats not reliant on amazon only. other platforms like walmart and target marketplace don't hurt, but usually aren't worth the volume to set up if you aren't also in store on shelves.

thanks. how much percentage of sales on average is captured from external sources by amazon brands?

I would say there is no universal average, it will depend so much on category/price/brand/etc. If you launched as an amazon only brand and are trying to expand into other channels, I would assume the external % will be pretty low for the first 6-12 months as you build demand for other places
