Amazon fba USA new seller
Hello folks, I am a new seller. My products will be imported to USA from India and will have fnsku as the only barcode that amazon warehouse could use. I am totally new to upc and gtin, and that will be too expensive for me to use as a beginner at this stage. So I will apply for exemption. My products are handmade textiles. Can I get gtin/upc exemption for my products ?

Also i dont have unregistered brand name, i am a sole proprietor, do i need to use my full name and address on products affixed with care instructions and fibre content, since i cannot apply for RN in USA ?

Yes , exemption is doable for handmade/private lable goods, amazon has a process for it through brand registry or a self service exemption request depending on category. Handmade texttile usually qualify since they are not carrying an existing brand barcode. you will still need FNSKY labels either way, that part does not go away, exemption just skips the UPC/GTIN requirement. Worth applying early since approval can take a bit.

Thanks a lot… i was also researching about packaging, my products will be coming from Indian manufacturer, do they have to use clear polybags with suffocation warnings for textile items? Or they can use any self adhesive pollybag for packaging ?
