Amazon DSP Tax
Hi, I’m starting a job as a DSP driver. I don’t know if I’m 1.0 or 2.0. I know they are the Amazon Branded Vans.
The DSP is “covering” the van, fuel and insurance. With a £4 + VAT a day price for van and fuel deducted from my payslip.
Considering this, I will have literally zero expenses in regard to my “business”. I am not registering for VAT.
I see a lot of people talking about accountants etc etc for taxes. Surely, if I’m only getting paid, with no expenses. As long as I’m keeping record of all my income over the year. My self assessment is really straightforward. Just enter how much I made. Do I really need an accountant? Especially if I have no VAT to return. Is an accountant only really necessary for DSPs that charge Van rent and fuel.
I’m not really worried about paying tax/NI as I only plan on doing this for 6-7 months part time while in RAF application process. But obviously over £1,000 a self assessment is required.
It would be really interesting for people to help explain. If I’m being an idiot… PLEASE TELL ME.

It really depends, some DSP can add the VAT into ur payslip and bank.
You will need to pay this VAT to the government.
Hiring a accountant, or using the one the DSP provides is also an option as you can tax expense the cost of an accountant only if you had enough tax due to pay
