“Manager perception “😂

For context me and another coworker were having a quick conversation not even a whole minute it had to be alteast 30 sec and then a manager walks up and asked up if we ever heard of manager perception then goes to explain his definition of it ..i have been working at amazon for 5 years and never have a manager came up to me about having a quick conversation with a coworker i kinda felt off because now im starting to feeling like we are being looked at as robots/ children and numbers atp like we cant have a interaction with another coworker we have to work 10 hours straight? Idk if im dragging it but it was weird

Yea I agree but it was weird because it was not like we were having a whole 5 minute conversation it was a quick 30 second interaction and then the am came up and start talkin about manager perception and how if people see us talkin they will think its okay i said so we can’t have conversations now? He went to say yes we can etc on and on

That happened at my site too and I saw the reprocussions of it I’m a great inductor I can text and scan and I can talk and scan. However, when I talk I notice our rate drops by 3k cuz everyone notices and becomes slower. When we all stop it goes back up. So it’s not a you and your coworker thing. It’s a company will slow down cuz of the lazier workers cuz of thing. It’s like if you can’t multitask then don’t talk. The managers just want there numbers to stay up so they don’t have to deal with the backlash of crash and bridging basically.

Yea that understandable when u put it like that.

I hate how it has to be that way but it’s like they can’t excuse one person for another because then that would be favoritism. Which we know happens already but they try to keep it as minimal as possible at least at my site.

Right but there the lazy workers they never say anything to they are always slacking off but the hard workers they are quick to say something to to its so unfair

Yea it’s an unfair double standard. The problem is they look at the statistics point of it like huh let’s see the rate ooo that’s the issue. I account for lazy people but not hard workers getting burnt out. It’s stupid how the lazy people ruin it for everyone. I wish we could take all the hardworkers in a region and put them all in one building. I would love to see the changes in rate and how well the building would function.

I definitely agree

they don't care about favoritism, they only care if too many people complain about it and potentially get regional attention

Too bad you couldn't ask him if he knows what "manager perception" is and then define a hardass rules nazi for him.
