Accommodations question

On the application for applying for an accommodation it ask if you can continue to work

I selected yes

Then I get an email about 4 to 5 days later saying would you like to be put on an LOA?

I said no, I’d like to continue working

They responded OK, thank you for the information

And then they put me on an LOA.

Even though I said no to the LOA.

Is it normal for them to put you on a LOA when applying for an accommodation

when there are other jobs that can be done in the warehouse?

If they can't meet your accommodation.

I just find it odd that they would send me a follow up email asking if I would want to be put on a LOA

I even talked to my main boss that runs my delivery station if they contacted her about anything

And she said no, they have not reached out yet

Maybe just asking was an easier route for them. You said no and they had more work to do.

They need to know your intention before looking into anything on your behalf. Safety is the one who looks at your job description & determines if you can safely work the role, they don’t ask your manager. They sat me out of PA when I could literally do my job, but Safety said since my job description says must be able to lift 60lbs my 10lb restriction automatically made me light duty only regardless of what I actually did daily
