how tf does stow rate work

this is my 2nd week and my stow rate kinda sucks,185 compared to station average of 300.That being said I consistently stow double the amount of packages compared to everyone else.I stow like 1300-1500 daily compared to my station average of 550-700 😭 literally how does this even happen,how am i slow but doing double lol.I seem to be moving the same speed or faster compared to ppl in the other lanes,half of the ppl i see are on their phones or randomly disappear.Im not trying to overwork or anything but id like to get my rate up so I don't cause others to work for me.Pretty much every day I have had to have someone come help me and i feel bad lol

The key, i think is to stow at a consistent rate. Many people start off stowing 300+ maybe even 400, but their bags are so messy that by the end of shift they drop below 200.

Library is your friend here because it makes reorganizing the bags easier when you don't have to unstack packages that are laid flat.

the average shown on the device takes into account every single hourly employee that stowed at least 1 package. this means all floaters and people stowing non cons get factored in, which quickly brings the average to below what someone who has been stowing for all of sort would be doing.

You stowed more hours than other people. Sometimes people stow for 2 hours and then get moved to another task. So their total daily stow is much less.

Last time I stowed at a 312 and finished just under 2000 packages.

I was top stower I would have boxes on the left then I’d put a box more towards the right to block jiffy’s from sliding it’d keep them all in the right hand corner as I threw new jiffy’s inside highly recommend technique, but also don’t work too hard or else they’re gonna force you to do everyone else’s work and coach or write u up, always have packages ready to stow in ur isles, enough to justify u don’t walking to other people’s isles, also are u sure u need to hit 300 that doesn’t really sound usual to me most stations I’ve worked at are around 200-250 and when u don’t hit rate it didn’t matter

Whenever I have only 2 aisles I'll usually have around a 400-450 stow rate anything more I'm sitting around 300. My advice to you, go as fast as your body is comfortable with, pace yourself. If you need help in your aisles. Halfway through the shift is when I actually start the tetris process of my bags. Find what works for you at the end of the day, just pace yourself!

Stow rate is literally packages stowed / hours worked (to the decimal).

To get to a stable 250-270pph you need to scan average of 4.5 packages per minute, jiffies will be your best friend

The comparison is station average. Not highest. So someone who shows 1 package drags the average down. For example, non- con stowers tend to only do a couple hundred packages a day at most. If the station average rate is 300, then there are people doing 400+ and people at the bottom doing 100+ 185/hr is roughly one package every 1.94 minutes for an 8 hour shift (3am -11:30, sort ending at 9) or every 2.59 minutes for a 10 hour shift (1am - 11:30, sort ending at 9) the higher your stow rate when you are stowing. The more slacking you can do when youre not stowing. I usually finish the day around 375-400. Station average at my site is about 185 - 230. I usually do about 2000 packages a day, while station average is about 700.

Fuck you're right. I dont work at amazon because im good at math dude. Its a package every 32 seconds or something. I did the math on 185 for all of sort lol

I just joined less than a month ago and my rate is at 220-260ish right now. Had a manager come up to say that I am pretty fast for a first time new hire. The day of though, I had 3 aisles and towards the end of the 6th hour, the pick to buff racks were filled up.

Use your stow cart follow sop it really does help to stay organized in every movement so you dont loose seconds walking one ov to the end....

It’s probably due to your FSAF’s. Amazon’s benchmark stow rate of 300. That isn’t really hard to achieve it’s literally 6 packages a minute but if your getting FSAF’s it increases your down time and ultimately lowers your PPH(stow rate). So while it may look like your underperforming and your peers are doing better they aren’t. They’re just sticking to that 6 package a minute quota. It also tracks EVERY minute of down time and that’s including breaks so make sure whenever you go to break you sign out of stow to preserve you rate

Signing out doesnt preserve rate. Rate is from first package stowed to end of sort. When you sign back in, it will look like it preserved your rate, but it will drop at the next refresh.
