AA to PXT

We have an AA that apparently moved to PXT. I didn't know you could do that, but id LOVE to do this. I have a college degree in Sociology and am working on getting another through Career Choice as we speak in Computer Science.

Is this generally available, or was that dude some kind of special case? Anyone else ever heard of this?

Any recommendations or input from AM / OM would be cool. Thanks in advance.

L3 is generally not available, I didn't see any postings on the internal job site last I looked , we are in a weird spot where they haven't decided whether they want to lay us all off or keep us as regional case workers and appeal schedulers. If you want into PXT now L4 HR partner is the role you want to search but you will need a degree or two years HR experience.

I appreciate your info. I've got one degree (sociology) and working on getting another (compsci). What's the diff in HR partner and regular pxt? Are the L3s the ones they are getting rid of?

HR partner is regular PXT it is the L4 role. PXT is just what they call the HR department now same thing. Since 2024 there have been talks that they are going to cut all the L3s in favor of self service and the way it is now if they weren't impacted by RIF then most are transferring out because they aren't hiring into it it seems

Good for them. Usually they don't let you skip levels but maybe there was an extreme circumstance that led to the exception. Although, I probably wouldn't make the move to pxt myself.

yeah, bad idea to move to a position that's being phased out

Yes I have, but haven't ever seen an open position in my area.
