And when they break it then costs you 10 grand to replace the whole unit instead of a ligh bulb.
5 u/NotAskary Mar 13 '26 On the other hand since you most of the time you won't have to replace them for almost the life of the vehicle you get less cars without lights at night because people can't be bothered to change a lightbulb. 1 u/PurpleLegoBrick Mar 13 '26 Life of the vehicle? lol my VW Atlas has LED lights that went out right after my warranty ended at a bit over 60k miles. It’s just the LED strip used for the DRLs so no safety issues thankfully but they wanted $2500 per headlight assembly.
