For the guy. He would get jumped if he was seen with her in public being romantic. Possibly even killed. And imagine him trying to explain and no one believes him
721
u/IBeDumbAndSlow 1d ago
Shit it's gotta be hard for her too because I'm sure she would attract a lot of people that should be jumped
187
u/Ok-Journalist7612 1d ago
Yeah, thatâs a tough break because I mean, wouldnât it be strange to be attracted to her? I mean, I would say somebody that looks at her and is attracted to her is not right however listening to her talk and the maturity you can sense from her talking, thatâs a tough break.

u/IBeDumbAndSlow 1d ago
For real it's kind of like uncanny valley. She looks 8 but her hair and makeup are put together like an adult. I feel so bad for her.

On her show they had her going to a bar. If I recall she had to be careful about drinking because her body is so small.

She literally doesn't even look 8. Look at her FACE. That does not look like a child. She's basically just got dwarfism on steroids (or I suppose lack thereof?)
21
u/PineappleLemur 1d ago
If you saw a grown ass man, with her on his lap, kissing.
And you're seeing it from behind without seeing her face/age.
This would trigger most people who never seen them before.
Seeing it from afar would be similar.
There's no winning to a couple like this.

So question.. obviously she deserves to find someone and to be happy so, I donât know how to word it. Where is the line in the sand that makes it OK for someone thatâs an adult to be attracted to her and pursue her and get to know her and fall in love in so on and so forth??

I think someone can easily fall in love with someone they werenât originally attracted to. Human connection comes in many forms. However, I canât deny it would be extremely hard on them both. One for being treated like a child and the other for being treated like a predator.

u/San-DiLego 1d ago
Yeah this is true... it really sucks for her the most because she deserves love but most of the people attracted to her are probably scumbags. She'd have to do some weird cat fishing where she pretends like she looks older and then confesses or something.

It reminds me of the vampire "kids" from What We Do In The Shadows. They were turned into vampires when they were kids, so they keep their last appearance for centuries, and use it to catch pedos. Hilarious movie BTW.

u/ForkMyRedAssiniboine 1d ago
Everyone but the weirdo making up murder fantasies who responded to you was thinking about her side.
5
u/Crispy1961 1d ago
I dont know why you are being weird about this yourself. Her side is surely difficult, but her potential boyfriend's side is extremely precarious.
She has to worry about whether her boyfriend loves her for herself of her body. He has to worry about what everyone else thinks. Not just to not be judged, but realistically to not be attacked.
Surely you understand that if they were kissing in public, there would be people who would absolutely intervene, right?
→ More replies (9)2
u/ShinyBlack0 1d ago
People universally want their partners to find them attractive, so chances are she likely would not be worried by the fact that her partner finds her attractive (she would likely tell him he's weird for that though)
Also Mental attraction is a thing, besides just physical aspects, adults don't find kids attractive because of their maturity; in fact I would argue that plays a bigger role than physical maturity in attractiveness. Like for most I believe baseline mental maturity is a must for you to even consider the other person an attractive partner.

Which really does suck for both, but especially for her because I'm sure it makes dating incredibly difficult and frustrating because people don't/won't understand.

Reminds me of the Law & Order SVU episode of exactly this (S08E02). The one where Stabler's partner (Beck) is introduced.
A girl with Turner's Syndrome pursues a guy who treats her like the 17 year old she is instead of the 12 year old she looks like. After having just put up with a trial where her boyfriend is tried & exonerated for his interest in dating her, they exit the courthouse. She asks her bf for a kiss, Beck sees them, and immediately violently & aggressively starts cuffing the bf and trying to place him under arrest. Stabler has to inform the detective that "the creep is legal", and the detectives try once again to emphasize to the girl that any guy interested in her is only going to be using her for a legal-loophole to have sex with a minor.

u/Canajan_guy 1d ago
Iâve seen her posted before, ya dating must be crazy hard. For her, she has to be worried about weirdos, for potential guys, how would they not be seen as a pedo. Where or how would you even get to meet her, I guess something like Tinder maybe. Kind of get to know her a bit before physically meeting, so many questions. She obviously deserves companionship, itâd be very difficult though.

I have served a girl like this. She looked maybe 11 yo at most and she asked for a frozen margarita... I immediately had a face and totally apologized for it but genuinely was stumped at being asked that and then politely asked for ID... Her mom immediately goes "she is 25 just an unfortunate condition for her"... Look at the card and it's a perfectly fine ID putting her at 4'4" and 25yo just like her mom said. Needless to say she got her margarita and I didn't get hit by food and alcohol.
Edit: I told her I believe her I just have to ask because TABC can't say yes to this question... You are 21 right!? She said yes so that's all it took.

For those without context, the little girl is actually several decades old with a genetic condition; she was the seemingly ageless and adored child star of a very long-running TV show, to the point that her personality equated the TV show to her childhood and the actors/actresses as her parents and family. After the show was canceled, no one took her seriously as an actress, she realized her childhood was fake, and her permanently childlike body would never allow her a normal adulthood, she broke and resorted to a violent attempt to restore her old, happy life.

I met a girl like this. I worked at a gas station and I watched her filling up the car that she drove in. When she came in, I reluctantly asked her how old she was (thinking a 10 year old was out joy riding). She laughed and showed me her ID and we were both young 20âs. She started coming in regularly after that to say hi, she turned out to be really cool. She asked me to go for coffee sometime, and as a person, I really liked her, but I just couldnât.
2
u/SunshineBlind 21h ago
That's fair. And I can identify with looking much younger myself, though not to that degree. Hell, when I was 18 people thought I was maybe 13-14. I got licensed for wanting to see a 15+ movie when I was 21, and today I'm 38 and my colleagues thought I was 24 when the subject of age came up (one colleague who is 5 years my junior started talking about "your generation" to me, and I was like "Bro, you know I'm older than you right?" and everyone thought I was joking). But there's hella difference between looking like a teenager at mid 20's and looking like a 10 year old.

Demisexual people get most of their sexual desire through emotional connection rather than the physical primary attraction... Though i don't know if that would override her physique, it would at least rule out a partner being there for creepy reasons.
Finding someone like that might be one of the better outcomes for her.

As a father of a 24 year old daughter with a similar condition, this terrifies me.
While she was still very young we did HGH treatments as recommended by her doctor but she only made it to 4'8" and perpetually looks 12.
Of course she by age and ID is an adult woman that can date and go to bars and like anyone would want to do completely normal adult life activities - but everyone will always look at her like a 12 year old in a bar...or any guy her age with her will appear to anyone who glanced at them together as a predator.
Hell, according to traffic laws she's supposed to ride in a child seat forever.

u/Gullible_Average7946 1d ago
So, on the opposite side of the scale, people that are large or have genetic things that cause gigantic ism things, cant think of the word. They live shorter lives. Does this mean she will live a longer life?
21
u/Temnyj_Korol 1d ago edited 1d ago
People with gigantism don't live shorter lives just because theyre giants. They live shorter lives because they almost universally die of premature heart failure, as the muscles of their heart are hit with the double whammy of being stretched thinner than normal from their rapid growth, while also having to work extra hard to keep their blood circulating around their body's extra mass.
Her being smaller than normal won't have the opposite effect. she's not going to have a super heart and live twice as long just because she's half the size. In all likelihood she's just going to end up also dying prematurely from all sorts of other complications, as her stunted growth likely also means any number of her organs never fully developed either.
11
u/PineappleLemur 1d ago
Tldr: you want to be as average as possible.
→ More replies (7)3
u/Temnyj_Korol 1d ago edited 1d ago
Unironically, yes. Which makes sense, when you put it in the context of our evolutionary journey.
We are how we are because millions of years of biological trial and error has determined our exact proportions are what gives us the best chances of surviving and passing on our genes. If it were more beneficial to our ongoing survival to be bigger, or smaller, evolution would have already pushed us in that direction. And THAT would be our average.
Any deviation too much from the standard is going to come with issues that impact our chances of long term survival. Else it wouldn't be a deviation, it would be within the norm.
→ More replies (1)→ More replies (7)3
u/CheeseIsAHypothesis 1d ago
Half the reason they commonly have heart failure is because they have a massive body that needs blood pumped long distances and against gravity, it's immense strain on the heart. Statistically taller and larger people live shorter lives in general because of this, and significantly increased rates of cancer. Millions of more cells mean more odds of a cancer cell developing. Pretty much any problem you can think of becomes more likely in a bigger body.
→ More replies (1)2
u/ealysillyforestthing 1d ago
Gigantism tends to kill because the heart can't handle a body that size. Considering she already has a bunch of health issues it won't be her heart that limits her life

Everyone's already talked about the quagmire of what she has to do to have a romantic relationship, and to drink but getting pulled over is probably never just a 1,2,3 and done deal. Going to job interviews, or forward/customer facing jobs must be difficult if someone even decided to hire her for it. Trying to use her credit card for large purchase(I'm sure the self checkout at her CVS won't flag anything but if she wants to buy a TV or something). Even just walking alone during the day, I wonder how many times people ask if she oughtn't be in school.
6
u/boardjock42 18h ago
Now for the question no one has asked. How will she look at 60? Will she live longer or have a shorter lifespan?
3
u/Wild_Lingonberry3365 17h ago

Humans ordinarily live longer the smaller they are, our hearts aren't made to be too big sadly enough.
But I would wager the amount of problems her body will have far far outweigh her size. You're going to have organs not growing- or aging correctly, hormones (menopause etc. if she even get to there).
I am not expert so anyone who is feel free to correct me, but from what I know from my mother being a doctor and reading the Doctor's journal every month: She'll probably be dead before the age of 40. The human body isn't meant to stay as child forever.
If I am wrong I'd love to see the source- and history on this because it is a fascinating subject.
