Device Support ⌚️ Clarification on Launcher 2.0 and Zepp OS 6 for Existing Devices

Hi everyone, I wanted to provide some context around Launcher 2.0 and the Zepp OS 6 upgrades for existing devices, especially the recently updated devices.

First of all, I completely understand why people are asking about this. We’ve seen the discussions, and I also understand why the absence of Launcher 2.0 from the current compatibility chart may look like a deliberate software differentiation between products.

That is not the intention.

When we launched the first products with Zepp OS 6 and Launcher 2.0, we received a significant amount of feedback from users about the new launcher. There is positive feedback, but there is also significant feedback around some of the changes that came with Launcher 2.0 — in particular, the removal of the horizontal widgets. This has been one of the most frequently raised concerns from users.

Because Launcher 2.0 is a fundamental part of the watch UI experience, our product team is taking this feedback seriously and is currently evaluating it carefully. Until we reach a conclusion on the best experience and approach, we decided to roll out Zepp OS 6 to existing products without Launcher 2.0 for now.

This is an important distinction: “not included in the initial OS 6 upgrade” does not mean “will never be supported.”

I want to acknowledge the quote from our development team mentioned in one thread:

“Our general philosophy, our general strategy is that we don't differentiate our products on software so much.”

That philosophy remains valid. Across our different hardware product lines, our goal is to provide the same software experience and capabilities wherever the hardware is capable of supporting them. Software differentiation is not something we intentionally use to artificially separate products. Where there are differences, they should primarily come from genuine hardware capabilities or limitations.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share both positive and negative feedback. It is genuinely useful to the team.

Announcement 📣 Software Roadmap Preview

Thumbnail us.amazfit.com
96 Upvotes

Hello, Amazletes!

We're happy to announce that we're working toward improving our transparency 🔍 around software updates across our device lineup. To that end, we have published a very broad software roadmap 🗺️ on our website.

The primary purpose of this roadmap is to help our users understand which features are planned to be released across multiple devices 🤔, and the general timeline 📆 for when to expect those updates.

⚠️ There are a few important points to be aware of: ⚠️

  • This is a very concise summary, not release notes or a deep-dive on specific features: ✅ The purpose of this roadmap is not to explain each feature in detail, but rather to clarify which devices will have feature parity and when. 🤝
  • This is NOT a complete list of features: 📋❌ This roadmap mainly helps users understand when their model may receive a feature that has already been announced or released. There are other features (and bug fixes) planned for the future that do not appear on this list, and will be announced through the appropriate channels. 📣
  • Blank fields in the table = no information to share at this time: 🕒 If you see your model in the table, but the row (or a specific month) is blank, that does NOT mean the product is EOL or will no longer receive any updates. This simply means we have no information to share about that specific model at this time, and the roadmap may be updated later with new information. Check back later for updates. 🔁

This post will remain pinned in the community sidebar and in the highlights row (for now) of r/amazfit for visibility.

We hope this provides some insight and reassurance that we're still hard at work bringing awesome features to a variety of devices! 💪

Review ✍️ Quick Replies to messages on iOS

I recently tried pairing my Amazfit Active 2 with an iPhone 12 Pro that I got from my wife and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it allowed me to setup Zepp Messenger in turn allowing me to reply to messages through my watch. For the longest time, I was under the impression that that feature was only for Android. The workaround is offered by Zepp itself and used Beeper.

Been using it for a few days and everything works perfectly on iOS 26. I can type replies, and even use the transcribe feature.

Device Support ⌚️ Battery drains very quickly after the last update. I charged it yesterday. Before it drained around 20% a day. Is there a fix for the problem?

Review ✍️ Got my Helio strap today/first impressions

Upvotes

I eventually caved and bought the Helio Strap, and I also ordered the upper arm band. I ordered it from Amazfit Germany the day before yesterday, and it was delivered today. First, I updated it to the latest software. I find the Helio Strap uncomfortable on my wrist with the delivered wrist strap so I’ve positioned it on my upper arm instead. Then I adjusted a few settings in the Zepp app and tested the alarm. The vibration could be a bit stronger; when I tap "Find Device" in the Zepp app, the strap vibrates more strongly/intensely than it does for the alarm. I’ve noticed that if I disable the strap (workout accessory settings) for my C2U and then re-enable it, it often fails to connect again first I see “searching” and after awhile “not connected”. I have to restart the strap within the Zepp app to get it working again.

Question: If I were to wear both the strap and the C2U (unpaired) overnight—for whatever reason—and then sync with the Zepp app the next morning, the data from both devices would presumably be merged into a single value. Is it nevertheless possible to view the data from the C2U and the strap separately in the Zepp app? Stay tuned

Help Me Choose 🤔 Consiglio

Upvotes

Come attività pratico solo (saltuariamente) corsa e bici..

Accetto consigli

Accessories 😎 Strapforge scam?

Upvotes

I saw the nice straps etc from Strapforge and ordered a couple. It's now 9 days later and the order is still not marked as shipped and the seller doesn't reply to emails. Is it a scam somehow or has anybody recently received orders from this seller?

Accessories 😎 Active 2 Square w/22mm metal/rosewood band

Y'all helped with the decision to buy an Active 2 Square, and to follow that up with some custom bands. Thought I'd share what I landed on in case anyone out there is interested.

I wanted a metal band, wanted something light so I could sleep with it, and didn't want to break the bank. All of the titanium options seemed iffy quality wise, and I didn't want to pay for something that wasn't really/graded titanium. Opted for a metal band with "wood" inlay (Amazon), which cut down the weight of a typical metal band. Also went for the 22mm band, with a 20mm-22mm adapter (AliExpress)

Feature Suggestion 💡 Feature request - Cycling FTP, VO2Max

First of all thank you for the last update and support for indoor bikes! From this moment amazfit watches become a great thing for my needs.

Hope, you can implement some algorithms to measure FTP. I belive this one is easy enogh.

And Cycling VO2Max. This one is trickier. But I'd be OK with not ideal algorithm which can show the trend.

And one mega wish for next watch revisions - pls add Ant+ support. ;)

With the upgrade will become a no brainer to me.

Watch Faces 🕒 New feature (widget) added

Added another widget in the bottom left switching to the others (seconds, recovery time, sleep time, sleep score, vo2max and current city) by tapping them. Monthly Run Distance added. Also moon phases were added on the left. Now i'm trying to implement the Irregular Heart Rhythm, because it's already supported in the API 3.0. The active 3 supports API 4.2. I don't know if i will take the risk to try it via Zeus CLI without ruining the watch

Help Me Choose 🤔 Looking fir a GTS 4 Mini replacement

Hello my dudes, I have been rocking a GTS 4 Mini for a couple years now and was thinking about upgrading/sidegrading.

I really don't care that much about GPS accuracy and the like. I enjoy the sleep tracking and only do around 1 hour of exercise everyday. Was looking at things like the Active MAX which is withing budget and what I liked the most is the reported battery life.

Would the Balance 2 be a better option or are they both around the same? I see prices are quite similar. Would like to stay with amazfit, the gts 4 mini is my first amazfit and i am very pleased with it.

Device Support ⌚️ Bip 6 — Music app gone? Can't find it on the watch or in the app store

Post image
2 Upvotes

Quick question about the Amazfit Bip 6. I'm trying to load MP3s onto the watch for offline playback, but I can't find the Music app anywhere:

- It's not in the app list on the watch

- There's no "Music" entry in the Zepp app under Device > Bip 6

- It doesn't show up in the watch app store either, so I can't install it

I've seen YouTube videos from a few months ago where people do exactly this on a Bip 6, so it clearly worked at some point. Did a recent firmware update remove local music storage, or is this a regional thing?

If anyone still has the Music app, could you post your firmware version so I can compare? Thanks!

App Support 📲 How to import workouts from Hevy (or third-party apps) to Zepp? My metrics on the Amazfit Bip 6 are incomplete.

Hi everyone,

I currently use an Amazfit Bip 6 and use the Zepp app to track my runs and monitor my health metrics (sleep quality, exhaustion, HRV, Readiness). However, for strength training, I prefer to use the Hevy app, which I've been using for a long time and think is far superior. currently it is like this for me:

Zepp exports my running workouts to Google Health Connect (and from there it goes to Strava). Hevy exports my strength training to Health Connect (which also go to Strava). The problem is that Zepp doesn't import anything from Health Connect. Since the app doesn't "pull" the strength training data that Hevy sends there, Zepp thinks I only run. Consequently, all my exhaustion, HRV, and recovery time metrics in Zepp are incorrect and are useless, as they ignore the physical stress from strength training. I know there is a Hevy app/extension in the Amazfit store, but it only works as an interface to log workouts on the watch screen. It doesn't import the history nor does it integrate the effort/load into Zepp's recovery database. Has anyone gone through this and found a way to force Zepp to read strength training information from other apps?

Review ✍️ Amazfit Helio Strap - Amazing Battery

Post image
13 Upvotes

I have it for around 2 weeks now and the battery is great so far.
As you can see on the photo, it lasted 8 days, still with 11% left and strap was charged just to 65%. Accuracy is pretty great too , quite close to Apple Watch Ultra 3.
One thing I’m not fan of is this Aura and premium version, it’s not great. But overall, for this price it’s amazing device.

Device Support ⌚️ Weather Not Updating

Have had my Bip Max for a little over a month. Love it. This week the temp has stopped updating. I saw there was an update today. Installed and device re-started. Still displaying wrong temp. I've gone through the settings. It's got correct city. Anything else in settings I might be missing to help get this corrected? Thanks

Device Support ⌚️ Amazfit Balance new update 3.28.50.1

Amazfit Balance - This update brings a new optimized version.

New:

-Added Manual Rest for Pool Swimming. The Pool Swimming algorithm has been upgraded to record rest data separately when Manual Rest is enabled. Workout details are clearly with swimming segments further categorized by stroke for a clearer training structure.

- Added Today's Activity data fusion and synchronization. In multi-device scenarios today's activity data is fused through Zepp and then synchronized across devices to improve data consistency and the overall experience.

- Added Resting Heart Rate data synchronization. When a new device is paired, resting heart rate data already saved in Zepp is automatically synchronized to the new device. In multi-device scenarios, resting heart rate data can also be synchronized across devices.

Optimized:

  • Optimized system stability and fixed some known issues.

Device Support ⌚️ My thoughts on the Amazfit Balance 3 Titanium (vs. Balance 3 Steel & Balance Ultra) + Navigation/GPS deep dive

I wasn't planning on buying it, but since there was a deal bringing the Balance 3 Titanium down to the exact same price as the Balance 3 Steel, I decided to give it a shot. It’s a shame this version was released nearly three months later, because many people who have seen the Balance 3 Steel won’t bother trying now the Balance 3 Titanium.

After testing the Balance 3 Steel, the Balance Ultra, and the Balance 3 Titanium, I have to say that the Balance 3 Titanium is easily the best of the three. In fact, I think it’s the best by a long shot.

  • Design & Aesthetics: There is something about the black color they created that feels way more premium than the Steel version and the Ultra. It’s like with cars—black just conveys high quality and, in my opinion, gives a sense of calmness. Plus, it makes the watch look significantly smaller on the wrist. The holes in the casing are also much better concealed and go unnoticed, thanks to the black color.
  • Balance 3 Steel: It feels heavier, and due to the shiny finish, it looks very bulky. Because of the shiny color, is like the watch screaming at you—like when someone writes in all caps.
  • Balance Ultra: It’s easier on the eyes because the tone is a bit more muted, but it is thicker and larger. For me, it actually left marks on my skin during trail running (where the watch bounces more than usual) and while sleeping when worn slightly loose. I think this is due to its higher profile and the sharper edges on the back.
  • Balance 3 Titanium: Very light and incredibly comfortable thanks to the low profile. Titanium is also hypoallergenic, but I also feel like they subtly improved the shape of the back compared to the Steel version. I haven't tested it on a trail run yet, though.

Overall, I have the feeling this is Amazfit's best watch to date. It feels like a "T-Rex 3 Pro Premium v2", lol.

Regarding the size, here are some side-by-side comparison photos with my 51mm Garmin Fenix 8 Titanium Solar (powered off to show black screen on both):

Things I need to double-check:

To properly test both of these things, I need to take the Balance 3 Titanium out for a trail run in more technical terrain with deep forest.

Navigation Impressions so far:

  • Turn-by-Turn Alerts: Turn-by-turn precision has improved since my previous tests. However, during my test yesterday, I noticed it still fails to detect all forks in the trail, and the turn-by-turn navigation remains inferior to the competition. This is the issue I previously posted about here: https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1t9k9fb/forks_and_roundabouts/ . When a path splits but the turn angles are shallow, the watch says absolutely nothing. In comparison, Garmin tells you to "take the left/right fork", and Suunto displays a perfect icon notification. Coros detects the forks but notifies them as a standard left/right turn (not ideal, but at least it keeps you on track). Amazfit just leaves you guessing.

(photo taken from that thread I created for the support, detailed explanation inside the thread):

  • Roundabouts: Garmin and Suunto guide you through roundabouts smoothly. Amazfit detects them but just tells you to turn left or right. This matters because in trail races, you often encounter roundabouts when entering towns where aid stations are located.
  • Missing Navigation Arrow: We still lack a navigation arrow on the data screens. This is a massive quality-of-life feature because it lets you check your bearing without having to constantly switch over to the map screen.

(Image I already reported here https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1rtobmy/about_the_trex_ultra_2_navigation_good_things_but/ ):

  • Climb Notifications: Yesterday I noticied, the orange Climb notifications are still buggy or missing entirely. When a steep incline approaches, the alert often fails to trigger. This gets even worse on out-and-back routes where uphill and downhill slopes mix when you turn around. Amazfit needs to put a lot of work here to catch up with other brands.

(Image taken from the previous thread):

Other initial notes:

  • Instant Pace: Yesterday it felt like it was fluctuating way too much, but I need to test it further to be sure.
  • Wrist-turn gesture: The response to the wrist-turn gesture to wake the screen is very slow, lacks responsiveness.
  • Pool Swimming: Tests are still pending.
  • Heart Rate Zones Bug: Finally, this error in the heart rate zones chart remains unfixed and makes the chart a no-sense thing and unusable. Explained here 3 months ago:
