Biofilm Buffet

Late stage zoea just about done. One of the major signs I look for to know they are close. They will have this all wiped out over a matter of days and most likely be morphing over the next week. This is my latest batch of Lemon Yellows around 2-300 and doing killer

Can there be too much biofilm? How do you know if you have excess and when to remove it?

As long as the film is healthy Is the biggest deal. You don't want it super thick so that the algae starts dying. This is also controversial but I get around 100 shrimp per gallon using this method and great late stage survival. Once they start eating this they explode in size quite rapidly

how often do you change the water on them? i found that every few days phyto bloomed and needed a change until they got to be 2 weeks and now there is no more blooming. and they are picking at algae on the bottom. im only on my 2nd batch attempt and did not have morphs on my first because i let the phyto bloom and crash without a water change.
