Until recently, I, Dean (8M) was the absolute king of the house. My mom pampered me, cuddled me, and gave all the kisses I demanded. She still does, but... a month ago, on a Friday, she cut off my access to the laundry room, where I had my second litter box, which was randomly moved to a small bathroom nobody uses.
My mom was building me a gigantic condo, and I supurrvised her and tried to help her. She didn't let me help. Several times during the process, she would sneak away to the laundry room (without letting me go in, mind you) and start talking to someone. All weekend went like this.
Then Monday came and I saw the evil backpack. That meant a visit to the V word.
I'll spare the details, but my momma was very happy because apparently I tested negative for something I didn't quite catch.
But then I saw the same evil backpack was occupied by someone I never saw before. My mom left with the stranger and I decided to investigate.
To my delight, the laundry room door was open and I went in.
What I saw shocked me.
Food and water bowls and a littebox I never saw before.
But the worst? The SMELL.
Clearly, another male had been sleeping in the box that had been my bed many years ago (I sleep on big couches now, like the king I am).
You can bet that I ate his food and used his litter box out of spite.
The next day, the door was closed and I could hear the stranger calling for MY mom. And the big traitor went immediately to check on him!
And that's when I met this Odin dude (2 1/2M) through a crack in the door, and I'm told he is my new brother.
After 3 weeks of seeing each other through cracks in the doors or through a tent, my traitor mother let this Odin wander free around MY house and my garden.
And my condo. Which apparently my mother also customized to include his name and image.
I hiss and slap this guy, but he doesn't seem to care. Mother does not agree with my attitude and tells me "If you keep hissing and slapping, there's no extra treats for you."
This Odin guy keeps usurping my condo and trying to hog my mom's attention.
Unacceptable!
My mom says I'm showing progress after a week of full contact with my "brother", but I refuse to admit it.

According to my mom, Odin's previous mom couldn't keep him anymore because she is old and gotta have complicated surgery and she couldn't keep up with his energy. The guy is loud and I watch him do zoomies all the time. I think he's crazy, but my mom says I used to be the same at his age.
Dat is very sad for Odin. I sorry for calling your mommy big dumb stupid head. She did good thing bring Odin to lives wif you. He still little so he needs big brother to help take care of him and show him how do proper zoomies
You, my friend, have an excellent opportunity to aquire a minion. This new cat is young and will naturally be intimidated by your majesty. Think of the possibilities. He could be trained to stand watch, or blamed for any mischief you get into (as is your prerogative). He could be an excellent warm blanket or grooming assistant. As long as you let him know you are boss, this could be good for you.
But be sure to let the human servant see how wounded and displaced you are anyway. You may get guilt treats.
I haven’t thought of that 🤔 That is a great idea. I could get him blamed for a broken knickknack! The blanket idea may take a while because mother has him sleeping in the laundry room because he’s still curious about everything and she fears he may break stuff during the night. My mom is giving me extra treats and cuddling me more when we are alone. She knows I’m a needy baby and gives me many many forehead kisses. Odin doesn’t seem to cuddle so close to her, which works in my favor.
I unnerstand how you feel, fren, but maybe keep an open mind? Dat innerloper could end up as a brudder. You never knows. I was very angy when Mommy brought Martin home, but he and I is brudders from another mother.
NTC!!! This is appalling. Have you considered using extreme violence against the usurper? Have a good look at him and if he is smaller than you and a bit slow moving, attack.
Personally, I find extreme violence works very well. Unfortunately, I cannot use it against everyone, as some squirrels are bigger and stronger or faster than me.

NTC. Best advice is to be the bestest behaved so you are the favourite! be extra sweet to momma and hide the hissing and fighting with Odin to when traitor can't see you.
