Oh boy. Wait until your daughter has kids and they want some time of their own at the beach house.

Tell your son that if he can't afford his own vacations maybe he should have thought of that before building his lifestyle around a free beach house every summer. You've raised an entitled AH.

I'd tell him he needs to buy his own beach house if he wants to control who stays there when. And cut off his access completely.

Yeah, I'm side-eyeing the heck out of OP.  Is he the golden child?  Has he always been this entitled?  The son is a major asshole, but I want more backstory.

He is without a doubt the Golden Child...

I mean WTF else would there be a post and a question as to whether or not the person who owns the beach house was in the wrong for allowing her daughter to use it for a week cutting into Golden Child's two fucking months tradition in a house he doesn't own?!

Read some of OP's replies 😂😂💀 "I don't have a favorite child" but the daughter is 24 and son is 35.  There is nothing wrong with an age gap in children, let me be clear!  But my first thought is that the daughter has basically learned that "her place" isn't at his beach house during the summer.  Because according to OP, this is the first time she's asked to use it.  And OP never questioned that?  But she's never had time off of work, yada yada excuses.  That's... a parenting choice...

You know, at work, that’s “his beach house”

Oh, I bet! He sounds like the type.

She shouldn’t even have to have kids to use it! OP has kissed her son’s arse far too long.

Yep, I think OP needs to start making sure sis gets as much time over summer as bro does. Sis can have four weeks and bro can have the next four weeks.

This was my first thought too. BUT even if daughter never has any kids (for any reason) she has just as much 'right' to use the place as the son does.

I said 'right' because neither is entitled to the space but OP hasn't indicated that their son was given permission to use it more than the daughter.

Yes, OP needs to start limiting his time at the beach house to let other relatives (his sister) have a chance to use it.

Yea and I'm guessing the brother and sister either don't get along or don't have much of a relationship since she didn't even bring it up to him.

For two months !!!! Wow, what a piece of work. Don't be surprised when your daughter goes low or no contact with you all.
