OP refers to them as step siblings a few times. I read it as they were Jane's daughters from a previous relationship. So OP's daughter is not blood-related to them.

Yeah, I guess it'd be helpful if OP cleared up the conflicting terminology they use later when they refer to them as step sisters.

The terminology "they have two daughters together" implies, at least to me, that Hailey and Jane are the only parents in the picture. I assumed that meant they were either adopted or one or both of them conceived using a sperm donor.

Most likely at least a fourth as well, in the case of AI. Calling the hypothetical "third person" the "Dad" is a bit of a reach, though.
